How does Kerry benefit financially from carbon credits? Does he own power plants? Control of what? Money? Your response explains nothing.

Okay. This is irrelevant to what I wrote. But thanks for reminding me. I almost forgot about the ice age. Smh.

I remember hearing the same warning over 10 years ago. Kerry is man worth ignoring.

Maybe Kerry only has 9 years left and he is just being prophetic about his demise.

"Ice Age"...? Seems a hell of a lot more plausible right now than the "GLOBAL WARMING" meme the Left has been preaching about for over ten years.... :blahblah:

Climate change is a symptom of the real problem we face: massive overshoot of the human population that has only been able to be artificially sustained by huge amounts of cheap energy stored in fossil fuels. When that runs out, green substitutions will not be enough to sustain us at current and future population levels. The population will either collapse if we don't change how we are living, or we can enter a slower decline and avoid collapse by replacing economic growth with a steady state economy or even economic decline while also slowing our population growth to zero or less. It's going to be very painful reaching that point, but it has to be done if we are going to avoid collapse.
We have to change what we measure as success. Economic growth will kill us.

When John convinces his wife to put her ketchup back in glass bottles instead of the plastic ones, I will believe he can lead on this issue.

Who knows what Kerry and his family and friends have investments in. No one knew Biden's son was in the fossil fuel business until the scandals broke.* If you want a tiny glimpse into how people make money on global warming then go to this thread from yesterday.

*Oh the irony of the Big Guy's son making money on fossil fuels only to see the Big Guy abandon fossil fuels when the kickbacks dry up.

Newsflash. The climate has always changed. Only a rabid leftist who seeks to control everything would think they have the power to change the climate.

Environmentalists like all political lobbyists are professional alarmists. Just like the homosexual lobby. Once they get what they want they move onto something else. There is no end. In reality they are pawns to the anti-West crowd who have used globalization to take away our ability to manufacture anything and ship our capital overseas. Simultaneously they slow down any growth (among commoners) through regulation of energy while the same places that were given our manufacturing industries pollute freely with no regulation or media hysteria. This is all about destroying the Western peoples and subjugating them to foreign dependence.

I think the problem is not that it is changing, but at the rate of change. It is happening at a far faster rate than normal, and species are having a hard time keeping up. Species have always gone extinct, but with a much slower rate of change, a larger number of species are able to adapt over time. Now species are just being wiped out as the random mutations that allow natural selection to happen over time just can't keep pace with the rapid changes for so many species. It will be mankind's turn soon. Up until now, natural selection has favored groups able to get the maximum energy return on investment through exploitation of fossil fuels. Once those are gone, nature is going to favor different characteristics, that our culture may or may not have evolved by then to handle. Evolution may favor efficiency over maximum power by then. We're not much different than other animals. Whichever animals have the characteristics favored by nature's current circumstances will thrive. Others will not. We'll see what happens I guess.

Human beings do not need fossil fuels to survive. A lack of fossil fuels does not mean extinction. Depopulation sure, but not extinction.

It's beyond me why Biden put this clown as the administration's climate expert.

Is he using his wife's private jet to fly around the world to preach about lowering our carbon emissions?

Of course, but how much of a depopulation will there be? That depends on how far we are over the earth's capacity to sustain us without the enormous amounts of energy tied up in fossil fuels to sustain us. Every process in this universe requires energy to survive. If a society that requires massive amounts of energy to sustain itself suddenly doesn't have access to massive amounts of energy, it is going to crash until the amount of energy required to sustain the surviving population equals the amount of energy available to be harnessed. Nothing can change that. So, if we as a species are smart and plan ahead, we can lessen the pain of the coming decline when fossil fuels are used up. All the other craziness going on in the world with climate change, etc etc, is the result of earth balancing the checkbook with the bills that humans are not taking into account with energy consumption. Economic growth is the growing bills that are due. The bill will be paid somehow.

Malthusianism is what you are talking about. Look into it in regards to resources. As far as climate change... It has always changed. Remember the ice age? We have been in a warming phase ever since. We all agree on pollution being bad, but unnecessarily cutting carbon emissions is bonkers.

I'm not worried about emissions. well, I am, but I'm more worried about how much fossil fuels are left. Not much. I think it would make a lot of sense to adapt now to a world where there is not nearly as much energy freely available rather than continuing to grow until there is actually not enough energy left to sustain us.
