What lie again? I don't recall anyone let alone Gov Abbot suggesting that "everything is fine", perhaps you can quote it from his speech? his writings? Otherwise, you're pandering a lie here. That doesn't bother you? And to put it fairly, at least in my local, the vaccination rate is over 15%, and getting higher every day. Why do you want to peddle your misinformation like this? If you believe that a "mask protects me" you aren't reading the science that actually tells you that your belief is misguided, and frankly dangerous as an assumption to your own health. We've cited the sturdies endlessly here. Masks protect others from YOU. not the other way around.

I have noticed a difference between the people thinking "You're going to kill me," and the open-economy people who are thinking more broadly that "We as a society are killing more people by creating poverty, despair, violence, suicides, drug relapses, mental health issues, and by disrupting peoples' normal health routines, people are dying at home. This is doing particular harm to a generation of children by interrupting their education and social development."

Who is more compassionate? "Me, me, me. Me. Today!" or the people thinking more broadly about society and the future of humanity with less concern for their own health?

I expect home health aids will continue to wear masks.

Plus, they were a priority for vaccinations and their employers are likely to require it.

Doomsayers. How novel....Your facts are either out of date, or entirely made up. And no, not all businesses will undo their own private right to ask folks to wear the mask while interacting with the business. Those businesses can make up their own minds about how their environment works, right? So..... what was your point again? Abbot explicitly said exactly what I wrote, so what are you complaining about again?

Right. And anti-maskers will prefer the places which don't require masks and maskers will prefer the places which do require masks. If a "necessary" place, like a food store, requires a mask then obviously everyone will comply. Most of us will just do whatever the store says.

FL never had a mandate and we have done better than NY and CA who have been the MOST totalitarian in shutting down their states.

Mandates aren’t necessary except for those too stupid to use logic and common sense. Businesses can choose to promote masks or not allow anyone to enter without one, which is exactly how it should be. And the public can choose to support that business or not. What should NOT happen are violent Leftists trying to destroy people who just want to NOT lose their livelihoods.

Can you cite the study which showed that most spreading was by symptomatic people? because that seems to fly in the face of the idea that symptomatic people can't go out a lot

And can you cite the study that shows social distancing to beat masks? because I was always told that social distancing was of little use unless the number of aerosols had been previously cut by the mask.

It's not hyperbole to call asymptomatic carriers "typhoid Marys" because that is exactly what a typhoid Mary is. Typhoid had almost NO asymptomatic carriers and its spread was, even so, a very difficult to deal with and feared aspect of its nature. That was why a TM became so feared and famous even though typhoid is MUCH less infectious than COVID. That's one of the main reasons this pandemic is so dangerous, you can't tell who has it and it's EXTREMELY easy to spread.

You anti-maskers should realize how fortunate you (and all of us) are that this is not Ebola. Were this a much more fatal malady people would shoot you dead on the street for not having a mask, and those would be cops.

Masking, distancing, and hand washing are the best protection we have until vaccines are more widely available, and masks are very effective at slowing the spread of the virus. It certainly isn't stupid to wear one. Try talking to anyone working in medicine.

In other words, scientific fact. But feel free to keep copy pasting whatever the Illuminati conspiracy theory rags are telling you to believe.

The ego of the left is fascinating to watch.

I don't give a flying **** if you like it or not, but you being scared of your own shadow doesn't give you the right to tell me how to live my life. I know it's incredibly difficult for a lefty to lose control of other peoples lives, but you're going to have to accept it.

Please stop spreading dangerous nonsense and embrace the facts. COVID-19 is a virus. A virus that primarily spreads through respiratory particulates. Masks help stop the transfer of those particulates. These are indisputable facts outside the most nutty conspiracy theory websites.

You know, the medical experts who actually know what they are talking about. But I'm sure whatever blog you have claiming that it's all a conspiracy to allow chupacabras to take over the globe or whatever is much more knowledgable.

This is, IMO, the biggest problem with the left and their attitude towards this virus. They give absolutely zero thought and consideration to the overwhelming negative side affects of the lockdowns and restrictions. I know how much I've hated the restrictions, but I can't fathom what people in the most locked down areas have gone through.

It's also indisputable that even when the entire country started wearing masks, the numbers weren't affected. You can't prove that if nobody would've worn masks, the numbers would've been a lot higher because we just don't know.

If masks worked like you say they do, we'd have seen a difference. You want to cite studies that prove masks work but when those studies don't mirror the real world, they prove nothing.

If masks stop those particulates, then that means they're just sitting there waiting for you to touch them....which everybody does probably at least once a minute. Gee, what could go wrong in that scenario?

As other posters have pointed out, the number of individuals infected while wearing the mask is empirical evidence as to the failure of the mask to prevent airborne transmission of virus, something proved in US laboratories since 1946.

The mask is the sacrament of the Church of The Poisoned Mind. It's sad, but no surprise.
