""""Virtually everyone of those who criticize police so broadly would wind up killing not only suspects but innocent bystanders if they were suddenly in that position. . IF you have not been in those shoes- the chances are you have no idea what you are talking about.""""

None of which happens except in movies and heavily edited videos.

As you walk through a big city, chances are there are hundreds of guns present that you never see. I have concealed carry- but not one person in public has ever seen it. The presence of a gun is not a threat; the threat is dependent on the person controlling it. Of course, gun laws are not obeyed by people who would use them to commit crimes- only by people who weren't going to be criminals in the first place.

The idea that we are all equal has been distorted and abused to imply that behavior doesn't matter- but of course it matters greatly. We make ourselves who we are. All have the equal opportunity to act respectably or act criminally, thus change who they are, and how they must be treated.

It's not the number of guns that cause police to be on high alert- it's the people they encounter, and the threat level they pose. A cop has to assess that immediately, and must act accordingly. The person they encounter can lower the threat level simply by following instructions immediately and fully- or increase it by failure to do so.

I would not want to be a cop in the current state of conditions; it has become a thankless job working for leaders that neither understand nor appreciate what they do, and who lack the courage to back up their own protectors. I don't think cops are any more trigger happy than ever- but I do thing that media has been promoting that view in an effort to manipulate our politics. That is also evidenced by the fat they defend the criminals involved and seem unwilling to provide the backgrounds and facst that keep balance in the viewers perspectives.

Nope. In a split second the cop defensively made a decision, and the shoot was justifiable.
The police were called to the neighborhood to investigate gun shots going off in the street. His video cam is on while he chases a male suspect brandishing a weapon running down a dark alley. The kid ditches the weapon behind the fence, turns around and goes to put his arms up. It was in that split second turn around the cop felt the kid was turning to shoot him, (remember he thinks the kid is armed) and he shot off his weapon to protect himself. Tragic, sure but the cop was not in the wrong here.

The cop is the one who shot the kid with his hands in the air. This is a little more than a simple mistake.

Sorry no it isn't that is your assertion which is informed only by your apparent dislike of cops and those who support them.

    How does that equate to
"So you believe the police should kill at will and never be questioned?

Do you know what that sounds like?"?

LOL, so you have no real point so have to imagine posters said things they never said....typical...

Where is my "apparent dislike of cops" ? Is it that I don't think they should never be questioned about their actions??

So, if you like cops, following your "logic", then they are free to do anything to anyone they want....?

You think putting a "?" at the end gets you off the hook. Notice there is no little squiggley thing at the end of what I just said.

What he said is clear enough that a question is not needed. It was very clear. It appears that you are the one who could use a whole lot more schooling.

What you are trying to do is taught as being deceptive in most debating circles. You are trying to make a statement and then claim later that it was only a question. It is not what grown ups do.

Well they weren't in the air yet. Had the kid raised his hands while facing away he'd still be alive.

Case in point that proves what I wrote above...
Take a look at the link above. The video shows an amazingly accurate picture. There was 838 milliseconds. between gun in hand and shot fired.

"The first body cam footage CPD released on Thursday did not clearly show the weapon in Adam's hand -- but police say the new video shows why the officer fired ... he saw the gun, and believed Adam was turning with it in his hand."

Yep complaining about an armed kid in an alley throwing his gun away just as he spins toward the officer. It dad and it's awful and I sorrow for his mom and dad. Maybe he'd still be alive if idiot leftist would quit trying to convince black folks, most of whom already know better, that police are their mortal enemy.
