The suspect who shut down the US Capitol on Thursday, August 19, ranted about President Joe Biden on Facebook Livestream before posing with a device with his finger on the button.

Addressing POTUS, Floyd Ray Roseberry, 49, said: "We got a few options here Joe. You shoot me, two and a half blocks are going with me. And then you’re talking about a revolution." He further added, "I love this land....the south is coming for you...the Revolution is on." On Thursday, August 19, he told police that he had a bomb, law enforcement said. Capitol Police affirmed that there was an active bomb threat just after 10.30 am. Reports confirm that the police officers observed the man sitting in a black pickup truck outside the Library of Congress holding what appeared to be a detonator, U.S. Capitol Police Chief J. Thomas Manger said.

After saying he was praying for the safety of Capitol Police and noting that “violence and threats of violence targeting America’s political institutions are far too common,” Brooks expressed some degree of sympathy with those upset at the federal government.

Also noted in this story is that he apparently did not have a functioning bomb in the truck, “but possible bomb making materials were collected” after Mr Roseberry’s arrest.

I don’t foresee a revolution as of now because there are no state actors advocating for it. if we are going to talk terrorism as a whole, all those stats exclude Islamic terrorism from leftists terror. They do this just to make the lefts stats go down. Islamic terror they claim isn’t related to the left but for some weird reason all the Islamic congressmen and congresswomen are democrats.

 

Islamic terrorists like Isis and the Taliban have much more in common with conservative ideology. They base their ideology on traditions and religion, they want Islam "first", they are anti-Science, they don't like feminists, LGBQT etc. But, tell us precisely what is left wing or progressive about their ideology?

Islamic terrorists are definitively conservative - they want to force society into a religiously based 'glorious past'. Even for right wing Americans who have handwaved away the entire history of conservatism that they don't like it should be pretty obvious. Of course, the Islamists are big on revolution, but US conservatives basically worship a set of revolutionaries, so not left wing either.

In fact, many Islamist groups have some point of origin opposing secular governments that often had some sort of left wing ideology - Afghanistsn, Syria, Egypt, Iraq.

But hey, right wing Americans don't like them, so they must be 'left wing'. Expect truly awful arguments in defence of that premise.
