The studies you are likely trying to quote are designed for low information individuals that lack the ability to find incongruence in a study such as being based during a period when homosexuality was illegal or using self identification to find estimated percent of homosexuals in the general population vs automatic application with an offense thereby invalidating the self identification percentages.
