Not being forced to live in a concentration camp very much floats my boat.

Not being imprisoned for no crime very much for my boat.

So this camp that someone "escaped" from (which seems like an odd term to use if we're not talking about a prison) is more like a resort and people can come and go as they please and there won't be a nationwide manhunt if they go?

If it's a place where you are required to stay through force that is a prison.

Your country is imprisoning people for being sick with a virus that has a 99.7% survival rate.

    That's what's happening.

Blame OANN it was their reporting - and it was Howard Springs in MAY. Howard Springs is an ex mining camp so not exactly Alcatraz

Meanwhile the NT had its first Covid death the other day and that was a breakout cluster from another person who breached quarantine - the victim was a highly respected elder

If people are held there against their will. It is a prison camp.

He probably reached quarantine because he didn't want to be in prison.

If you're held there against your will and not allowed to leave it is prison.

Maybe a little compassion for these people that are so carelessly shipped away will go a long way.

Put yourself there would you want to be in prison for something you couldn't help?

What an infected person 'wants' is beside the point. It's what the majority DON'T WANT
that counts - and they don't want his disease. Same with any disease, not just Covid.

so it's okay to treat them poorly because they're not human?

    What if it's you?
so if the majority doesn't want to be around Jews we can just stick them in a prison.

Majority rule is tyranny. And you're using it to dehumanize people for something they can't help.
So when are you starting on Mein Kampf?

    Lots of logic fallacies here

    Godwin's Law

If someone 'can't help' being a carrier then they CAN help by isolating.

you are dehumanizing people. So your crying falls on deaf ears.
That's you, you better get in that prison and like it.

Should we make quarantine voluntary then? Do you understand the purpose of quarantine? It is never 'voluntary'.

Seems a bit late though doesn't it?

That isn't justification to imprison people

Maybe read a bit more widely before jumping to conclusions?

Ok, you've really dropped the intellectual bundle here. Quite disappointing and pathetic given your usually thoughtful posting history.

    Over and out from me.

no it's that you're lying to yourself about a prison and I refuse to.

If you are forced to go there against your will and you're forced to stay there it's a prison I don't care how you justify it. Or how you make it palatable.
    I have principles.

Early in the pandemic, Trump was accused by the left of not caring about the burden he placed on travelers returning from China who had to endure a 14 day quarantine. The solution then is to imprison everyone, including the keepers, and toss the key just out of reach for the sake of equity.

A 'few feet from home'? That's actually what you think quarantine is for?

I'm going to assume you have almost all of the information wrong, if that's what you think it is.

Yes, it seems to be almost entirely a product of the 21stC, this bizarre "you can't make me!" attitude to health and other things. Much of the safety these people enjoy is a result of people being "made" to take mandatory vaccines, and people being "made" to fight wars, and people being "made" to change their behaviour for the good of the nation.

To regard civic duty as a personal slight, is entirely new. It doesn't belong in societies which depend upon cooperation for their First World status.

Not to mention being able to sleep with your windows wide open.

And another thing that bugs the hell out of me about America, is the lack of privacy fencing. For people who profess to love the privacy to do whatever they want on their own property, the lack of fencing is a complete contradiction.

That would never wash in Australia. Six foot opaque fencing is absolutely de rigueur here. No one wants their neighbours looking into their yard, and we fight hard to ensure that doesn't happen. We also own dogs .. and dogs should always have free access to securely fenced yards.

Son, I have a degree in Electrical Engineering from West Point and an MBA from Missouri. Your childish insults tell us a lot about you. I feel pity for you that you are not motivated to feel pride in your native land. We here in America are very proud of our country. Actually, I can't even imagine a citizen like you that feels so little for your country. How awful!

So, if you came back from Africa with some contagion only you knew about,
would you self-isolate in some personal 'prison' or would you spread it because
    it's your 'right.'
Actually, I am sure, in America, you don't HAVE a right to spread disease.

You mean as opposed to your childish insults? I don't care how well educated in a particular field you are or claim to be. If you make comments concerning the history of another country and they are incorrect, then they're incorrect, end of story.
