It is fascinating to watch a whole demographic use the Dunning Krueger effect as a 'how to' guide rather than a warning about ignorance.

That is the funniest thing I have read in a while. You post playground insults and lies and then try to impress us with your ejycayshun. Clearly neither of your degrees taught you how to do the most basic research. You seem detemined to be an example of the ability of propaganda to overwhelm intellect.

I'm not planning any trips to Africa so your post is meaningless.

first it wouldn't be a prison because I wouldn't be kept there against my will.

Second if I had something that was dangerous I probably wouldn't come back from Africa until I was over it.
Actually in America we have freedoms here we're not imprisoned for being sick.

It's only dictatorships that build concentration camps.

Your childish (and endless) insults tell us a lot about you (and those that raised you, by the way). Keep it up. You seem to thrive embarrassing yourself with such tantrum like rants.

When it comes to insults I don't even address them because it's only people who have no argument that do that.

They're lashing out angrily at the truth.

I probably should take you just repeating my words as a compliment, but seeing someone who thinks 80% of allied forces at D-Day were 'Muricans repeat my words is actually a bit depressing. Can't say I really want to be imitated by the profoundly ignorant and propagandized masses.

OK, second funniest statement on this thread. You guys should go on the road in the 'red' states. You can be Dunning & he can be Krueger.

Insults are a way to avoid the truth.

I get it you don't want to think you live in a country that builds a concentration camp and prisons people there but you do.

My country did it in the past too. I'm not embarrassed about it the only thing I can do is make sure that doesn't happen again.

Like I said, I know people who have been in quarantine in Australia, you don't even know what it is.

Insults are all blind, willing ignorance deserves.

I guess you didn't deserve the benefit of the doubt. You know what's happening and you support it.

You're willing to dehumanize these people, saying they deserve to be imprisoned. Your just a step away from a Holocaust.

    False analogy with 'concentration camps'
    In Australia it's mostly hotels
If you 'stay' in Africa then that is a form of quarantine.
Any nation that doesn't have rules and regulations for pandemics and
communicable diseases wouldn't be right in the head, frankly.
    But USA does have rules
Legal Authorities for Isolation and Quarantine | Quarantine | CDC

Like AIDS, many lives would have been saved had these rules been
    applied quickly.

I keep classic cars too. Wanted to have a shed full of them when I was young but
I figured they would just get stolen and my farm would be a magnet for thieves. Now
I just have one 1967 Holden.

A nice prison is still a prison. And if you dehumanize them is only a matter of time before you ethically cleanse them.

But it's not the same as putting me in a prison.
I'm sure the Kampuchea thought and said the exact same thing before the Cambodian genocide.
Sure if we just imprisoned mostly gay people and ethnically cleansed them HIV wouldn't be as much of a problem but it also would likely be a death sentence.

Odd how you advocate imprisoning mostly gay people. I take personal issue with that.

Maybe you think they should be pushed off of cliffs. Or ethnically cleansed.

    Non sequitor my friend.
    :)
I live in South Australia with border closedowns.
Death toll from Covid = 2.
The 'right' of health and life was more important than the 'right' to uncontrolled movements.

Rights are negative in nature. I suppose this is wasted on people from other countries because most of them don't really have rights.

All I can say is it's not surprising the government that took away your firearms is now trying to imprison you.

You can keep saying these are non sequiturs, they are not that is what's happening.

I feel for your other countrymen you are probably but a few steps away from being ethnically cleansed my question is will you be okay with that too.

I have family in Texas. They lost 75,000 people to Covid in that state, so far.
South Australia lost about one in a 1,000,000. Texas lost one for every 386.
The first duty of any govt is security - Texas, like most other states, are derrelict
    in that duty.
As 110,000 Americans have found, firearms don't necessarily give you security,
and 50,000,000 Covid infections are a steep price to pay.

I am skeptical that Americans have greater freedoms that we have. I have lived
both countries and what strikes me is the limitation of freedoms in the USA due
to fear of crime and the on-going tragedy of an uncontrolled pandemic and
narcotics. But... I have a lot of love for the USA and hope to return, post-Covid.

Here in Texas we have freedom. We have no China Virus restrictions. You can wear a mask if you want, but no one forces you to do so. We watch other places that require proof of vaccination to travel. Here in Texas such mandates have been outlawed. My wife and I recently took a cruise out of Houston and it was unencumbered by such dictates.
One of the longest lasting effects of all the China Virus mandates are their effects on children. Kids pulled out of school for so long are showing tangible effects of falling behind. We joke here that in twenty years all the doctors, lawyers, astronauts and engineers will be Texans while their blue state compatriots will be unable to balance their bank accounts or even read well.
The China Virus has been used effectively by certain elements to control every aspect of our lives from education to travel, from business to recreation, and from family gatherings to social events. Not only have I never tripped over a dead body here in Texas, I don't know anyone that had COVID.
So while y'awl shiver in fear under your beds and let COVID run your life... we'll be busy thriving and prospering.

What's the problem is Australia? Not enough vaccinations, no knowledge of proper quarantining (I mean, a 27-year-old isn't a member of the most susceptible to Covid groups), being unaware of the most susceptible groups to Covid or does Australia just enjoy being authoritarian/fascist?

Maybe Australia likes to put even more of a burden on their already overextended hospital systems by trying to prevent every case of Covid.:roflol:
Hasn't anyone in Australia ever considered herd immunity??

There is no excuse for a concentration camp.

The country that makes concentration camps is wrong

America has had concentration camps, Australia has not.
ANY 'excuse' is preferable to millions dead or infected -
remember, security is the first priority of any government.

It's not called China Virus, though it should be called that.
You aren't seeing the seventy five thousand dead Texans
because they are not lying in the street.98% of these dead
would still be alive had Texas moved for rapid restrictions
at the beginning of the pandemic - as the government is
    supposed to do.
America has had, what, TWO major pandemics over the
past two generations - HIV AIDS and Covid 9. Both have
been heavily politicized and this suggests your country will
be fully exposed and vulnerable to ALL pandemics in the
    future.
Your own grandparents and great grandparents who fought
and conquered small pox, polio and the like would be utterly
confused by such a turn of events.
