If this is a reference to three specific American citizens reported recently there's a problem. All three have been identified and are alive and well back in the States having not participated in the war in Ukraine in any way. There are however lots of international volunteers flocking to Ukraine's cause from Western countries including the US so even if this particular report is false it's certainly possible American citizens will be KIA in the near future. Just not this time.

Anonymous, both Democrats and Republicans, Japanese, Europeans, Indians, Australians etc
    helped China become strong.
We all rode on the coattails of China's success. Australia was utterly reliant on China.
But we gave China T.I.M.E.... time to become a part of the internation order, time for its middle
class to grow, time for democracy to take root. But it became clear over the past two or three
years that time was up - China under Xi was going down the Russian route.

You do not comprehend Russia's reasoning, in large part because you believe the many lies told by the US government.

That's nonsense revisionist history. The Russians made themselves hated.

Americans (in particular, but not exclusively) exaggerated about everything and use excessive terms whenever they speak. So when it says, "Russia has declared war on Ukraine" - in the OP - it means nothing. In this case, it is an adolescent attempt to insinuate that peace-loving Ukraine is good and brutal Russia is bad.

I suspect we have some examples right here at PF.
Deception has changed in the digital era, and spies are adapting

The tools and scope of the digital world present unprecedented challenges for intelligence agencies, Amy B. Zegart writes.

    By Dina Temple-RastonMarch 18, 2022

". . . “Now Russian disinformation is designed to flood the zone, reaching millions within hours across every format (text, video, audio, photos) and information channel imaginable — social media, Internet websites, satellite television, and traditional radio and television,” Zegart laments. “The aim is to overwhelm, divide, and breed distrust in information itself, undermining the democratic discourse.” We are approaching the era of truth decay. . . .

“Inside nondescript offices in St. Petersburg, Russia, hundreds of trolls masqueraded as Americans in around-the-clock shifts — tweeting, liking, friending, and sharing in English to attract American followers,” Zegart records. The Russian campaign was all about creating Facebook groups meant to antagonize one another.

Ukraine has become the latest test bed for misinformation. Russia allegedly had plans to film a fabricated attack by the Ukrainian military either on Russian territory or against Russian-speaking people in the Donbas region. The film was going to be used as a pretext for invasion — it would purportedly be proof positive that Ukraine was committing genocide.

We know about it because the Biden administration decided to openly release the intelligence it had gathered on the operation, essentially defanging the effort in advance. We have yet to see proof that it even existed, but if it was part of a Russian disinformation campaign, telling everyone about it meant that the truth about the ploy was released before the lie had time to get its boots on (a reversal of the old adage — a lie gets halfway around the world before the truth gets its socks on). . . . "

Let's clarify a couple of things.

Stepan Bandera was in prison when the Nazis invaded Poland. He was in prison for the murder of the Polish Minister of Internal Affairs, Bronsilaw Pieracki. He had received a death sentence but it was commuted for a life term. Furthermore, he was in Poland and was born in Poland.

Russians occupied homes?? The entire area of 'ukraine', with the exception that was added by Stalin during WW2 (which included Bandera's birthplace and area he wanted to turn into a separate Ukrainian country) was once part of the Russian Empire, hence Russian.

The famines weren't confined to the 'ukraine'. Do you think it quit raining just in Ukraine to punish just those people?

Finally, the Poles tried to kill him (rightfully so) and should have but they commuted his death sentence to life in prison. This is the 'hero' you speak of.

Typical U.S propaganda. Not even sophisticated. The thief shouts catch a thief. If the White House believe that those people actually have influence over Americans then the world is in one hell of a trouble. Basically, the White House sends the message our people are complete morons.

The White House Is Using TikTok Influencers to Peddle Propaganda | Opinion

    https://www.newsweek.com/white-house-using-tiktok-influencers-peddle-propaganda-opinion-1688698

18-year-old TikTok star Ellie Zeiler, who has over 10.5 million followers, told The Washington Post how she saw her role. "I'm here to relay the information in a more digestible manner to my followers," Zeiler said. "I would consider myself a White House correspondent for Gen-Z."

The results of the briefing—a humorously uniform bevy of tweets and videos—reveal how slippery the slope is between "fighting misinformation," "civic duty," and just spreading propaganda.

Civilians: read Azov fighters and other Ukrainian militant units who prefer to be burned alive than simply surrender. Furthermore, if the Ukrainian army members, who actually occupy those civilian areas and objects, stopped posting their photos with sniper riffles (high-rise buildings) and rocket hand launchers/man-pads (again high-rise buildings and their rooftops) perhaps people would buy their stories about the Russian army deliberately targeting civilian objects.

Bill, who cares about a long-dead controversial Ukrainian nationalist? This is what matters now:

Ukraine war is "a senseless massacre," Pope Francis says

From CNN’s Nicola Rutuolo in Rome

Pope Francis speaks from his studio overlooking St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City, on Sunday, March 20. (Andrew Medichini/AP)
Pope Francis called the war in Ukraine “a senseless massacre, where havoc and atrocities are repeated every day,” in his weekly Sunday address and blessing.

“I beg all the actors of the international community to make a real effort to put an end to this repugnant war,” the head of the Catholic Church told the crowd in St Peter’s Square after his Angelus Prayer.

“This week, missiles and bombs hit civilians, the elderly, children and pregnant mothers,” Pope Francis said, adding he visited injured children treated in Rome. “One of them is missing an arm, another one wounded in the head, innocent children,” the Pope said.

“Let us stay close to this battered people, embrace them with affection and with concrete commitment and prayer, and please do not get used to war and violence,” he added.
Pope Francis invited “every faithful and every community” to join him on March 25, the day of the Christian Annunciation, “in carrying out a solemn act of consecration of humanity, especially of Russia and Ukraine.”

“All this is inhumane, indeed it is also sacrilegious because it goes against the sacredness of human life. Especially against defenseless human life, which must be respected and protected, not eliminated, and which comes before any strategy, let's not forget, it is cruel, inhuman and sacrilegious,” he concluded.

Who cares about Bandera? Well apparently a lot of uneducated Ukrainians do. Enough to condone the genocide of ethnic Russians in the Donbass and Odessa. To burn people alive. To erect statues of the shitbag. To fly the Nazi flag. To create more than one political party devoted to the man. To give him a national holiday. To celebrate his birth. And enough to cause a war with Russia.

The Pope, well he's a political POS. He should have called out the Nazis but he doesn't have the stones to speak the truth. So I don't give two shits what the Pope has to say.

Like Putin, you misunderstood the threat you faced. From the link in #5659:
    Princeton University Press
In her new book, “Spies, Lies, and Algorithms: The History and Future of American Intelligence,” Stanford professor and intelligence expert Amy B. Zegart provides not just a sweeping history of the U.S. intelligence community but also nuggets that help place events in a new context.
