I don't dispute that it is possible to influence people through the media. Consumption of it is part of the experience that forms our character, after all. What I will dispute is that 'Bambi' controls my thoughts. This poor woman is clearly less than entirely functional. I really cannot take her words at face value.

Maybe they wanted a positive image rather than the one projected by films such as 'Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned to Love the Bomb'. After all, these people are asking to use DoD assets in their films. After all, I can't imagine a scenario where I would allow someone to use my own stuff to make me look bad.

 

Now he is lauding the green cult. He has been talking for a good 20 minutes and has not noted a single specific new plan, supply, or of aid dispatched.

 

Sorry, but that's just an attempt at a face-saving falsehood.

In most instances, yes, but not all. The western allies shot at the Soviets (in a manner of speaking) after calling them allies and friends. The western allies also shot at the Poles (again and again and again, in a manner of speaking) after claiming they were Poland's champion. The Americans shot at (and strung up) Saddam Hussein after calling him a friend. And then there were a number of Latin American leaders that the US supported only to shoot at later on. So which ones (if any) were justified and which ones were not?

Absolutely. But that's where the rules of the game enter into it. If Washington says that US involvement in Vietnam was "a conflict" then the Yankees have no right to call this little skirmish in Ukraine "a war".

Just a wild guess.....

 

So what? Look at it from Ukraines perspective - they are being invaded by a much more powerful country and these fringe groups are offering to fight on Ukraines side. Do you know that several Russian separatist groups, as well as groups from Belarus that resist Lukashenko, are also fighting on Ukrainian side to gain combat skills for future battles at home? I totally understand why they are willing to let them fight.
Russia itself caused the rise of these groups - if they didn’t invade in 2014, Azov would not exist and its members would be hiding their symbols in basements.
Look at it from basic perspective - you are being assaulted on the street by a local bully, who is pounding you really hard, and a local Nazi guy walks by, sees the assault and intervenes to save you. Would you refuse the help from the Nazi guy and continue receive blows to your face, or would you accept help from a guy from some fringe group that genuinely wants to help you? If that bully wasn’t near you, you’d probably shun the company of that Nazi guy, but when you are in a situation where your life is being threatened, I’m sure you’d accept any help you can get.
