Think you accidentally put a quote tag of me in there that you shouldn't have. Because what you claim I said is not shown in the post it links to.

Not really if nobody is filing false police reports. So you think it was fake?

Good chance that it is. It was an open hand slap and a really enraged individual would have used a fist. No real damage inflicted. We'll probably never know for sure.

Fortunately for Will Smith, he’s not a cop.

Smith's own public statements after the fact would undercut this claim.

Nothing will work except addressing the cause, and the Left will never address the cause.

    We know why, of course.

Wrong. A slap is physical assault. It's the intent determines the severity of charge.

No. What I said is factually correct. Yes, it is physical, but it is a misdemeanor and hardly ever prosecuted when the victim does not want to press charges. When its about domestic abuse, - a husband slapping a wife, they are much more likely to press charges because it typically escalates later. In this case both parties apologized and thats the end of it.

What you said is not factually correct. It may be In this case, but generalizing that a slap is only a misdemeanor is not correct. And no, a victim does not need to 'press charges' in order for someone to be charged. The state can charge you at any time if they think they have a case. This is exactly what happened to me, and I didn't even slap anyone.

--Edit: fixed grammatical error: 'a victim does not need to 'press charges' in order to be charged.'

The guy assaults Rock and he gets just 30 days? Really?

Two months if he punched him out? Three if he beat the crap out of him?

A kiss if he says he's sorry?

    No my vote here

    http://www.politicalforum.com/index...osecute-for-the-battery-on-chris-rock.598379/

was for community service, a fine and probation.

    What is yours?

Why shouldn't he face such a penalty and don't say because Rock did not "press charges" I already dismissed that.

If you can't respond to my post, don't post nonsense just because you feel like you need to reply.

You didn’t dismiss it, you explained why it’s not necessary, but it’s still a valid reason to think they should let it go.

I posted the stats in the current events thread, it's an over 60% prosecution rate with the member of the household and not about even. I also posted there is not such thing as a citizen pressing criminal charges, it is the state that determines if it warrants charges and this most certainly does so.

Oh no, no no no no. That is not something Democrats support. Making it harder for law abiding citizens to buy firearms =/= getting guns off the street. Do you know what methods have proven to get guns off the streets? Stop and frisk, gang crackdowns, secure borders - things Democrats oppose.
