Of course it matters. The viewers can see the politician dance and weave - a dance of disingenuous denial .. specially if the moderator presses the issue.

Neither am I. I do however, support a return to self responsibility, limited government, removing homosexual groomers from the education system, strengthening family structure, etc. In other words, im a conservative. And i despise Trump. Now go f*** yourself.

Americans don’t care if their team lies and dodges. It’s only when team Other does it that it’s problematic.

There aren't any more homosexual groomers in education, they're all in right wing politics now
You're not a conservative. Conservatives were people like the late William F. Buckley and the still living George F. Will. These two would have never approved of anything even remotely like the RNC has done. Debate was meat and drink to men like them but they believed in debating political issues on political grounds not dragging in moral questions at the first opportunity and hiding behind name calling before any argument even begins . You sound like an incipient fascist, in other words one of the many new Trumpers without Trump.

Who is? I seem to recall a few times in the not too distant past where debates were moderated by Republicans. I'll have to look that up.

As for the last two rounds of presidential candidate debates -- not one single response from the Democrat was allowed to be finished without the bombastic one interrupting and the "moderator" being completely ignored. Not. One. If that isn't fair enough, what is?

This is true for many.. 1/3 on the blue side 1/3 on the red side heck .. who was that child molester almost got elected in one of the southern states .. and a gazillion other "case in point" examples.

So these 2/3rds don't care but nor do they factor into the electoral decision as much as the 1/3 in the middle.

A good example was Hillary -- who had the election handed to her on silver platter .. but was just so horrible that many in the 1/3 Blue group - while not running into the arms of Trump - just didn't show up .. sat on couch .. one of the lowest turnout elections in decades.

Due to the demographic time bomb .. if the electorate shows up Red loses. That said Blue is getting so bad that even this is in some jeopardy .. would Red just shut up and moderate a bit .. but Nooo .. Lets put the reason for the demographic time bomb front and forward .. Abortion banned after 6 weeks by religious right extremists in some states now.

The middle third needs to unite by one third party candidate. Someone moderate, thoughtful, intellectually curious and well spoken, who is capable of managing the country.

Their personal agenda is unimportant. It will force Congress to talk to each other. What a powerful, “You all suck!” message that would be.

Not sure if a 3rd party is possible yet .. but getting there .. the pot is simmering. Its hard though .. the raging masses are civicly and politically dumb . and just dumb in general - sorry .. but challenge anyone who has ever worked in the service industry for any length of time to claim otherwise.

Used to Joke -- "I used to think - There is a little good in everyone" .. then got a job as a waiter.

The problem is that most do not realize that a vote for Red is a vote for Blue at the end of the day .. and vice versa .. all you will do is maintain the status quo with such a vote. What the raging masses will say -- almost to a person - "Your wasting your vote" .. not understanding that when given a choice between Stalin or Hitler . it is a vote for either that is wasted.

Also problematic is that the State Sponsored Propagandists .. have gotten really good..

If there are no presidential debates it will be because of the Democrats trying to hide either The Big Guy or Harris. The RNC has NEVER said they support no debates they want more and better debates. As I noted the straw that finally broke the camels back after decades of the RNC and Rep candidates complaining about the commission and demanding more fairness was when the commission with the support of the DNC refused to schedule a Biden Trump debate before the polls open in multiples states. It could but refuse. And early voting favored Biden and his campaign and the DNC were desperately trying to keep him under wraps and out of the public as along as possible and get as many votes in as they could before they were forced to. It was the Rep's demand more and earlier debates before the polls opened to voting.

So deal with the facts. The RNC and DNC can now equally set of the time and place and format and more important the moderators.

The problem there has always been with these third parties IMHO is they want to start and the top and work down. The go after the Presidency when there is not one third party governor that I know of. How many in the Congress besides Sanders. How many mayors and state legislators. A serious new party would have to start at the grassroots and get some credibility and work it's way up.. I have voted Libertarian but I can't recall the last time I saw one on my state ballot and they haven't had a serious Presidential in years.

    That's O.K., the Republicans don't need you.

    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president-biden-job-approval-7320.html

Blacks and Hispanics are running from Democrats at record numbers.

The Left is going to be out of power for decades. This is a tidal shift never before seen. No Republican will need a vote from a Leftist like you for the foreseeable future.

The person I have in mind has such credentials. We have so many moderates in government who are always forced to choose a side.

Create a Reasonable party with someone whom everyone can get behind. No radical agendas. Agenda is to take our country back.

What's a moderate, and what are the reasonable policies, everyone thinks THEY are the reasonable people, is the question.................but that is for another thread, would make a good one in the Political Opinion section.

    Back to this one now.

RNC Votes To Withdraw From Commission On Presidential Debates

The CPD refused to clean up their act.

The commission’s “repeated missteps and the partisan actions of its Board Members make clear that the organization no longer provides the fair and impartial forum for presidential debates which the law requires and the American people deserve.”

    We deserve better.

The CPD’s arrogant board of directors refused "to adopt a code of conduct preventing staff from making public comments for or against any candidate and committing to host at least one debate before the start of early voting, and publicly disclosing criteria for moderator selection."

    So, screw 'em.

    Good.

Until they start inviting all third parties, it's a racket.

As usual, when the job gets tough, run away. A prime example of how Republicans deal with tough situations. !!!

Lol…it will be fun to watch the repubs try to have “debates” if they let trump run again. The shitshow of trump attacking all the repub cowards will be a made for tv spectacle of the lowest common denominator.

What if the Rep has 49% of the polling and the Dem has 49% of the polling and then 10 third parties each have .01% of the polling should there be 12 candidates on the debate stage?
