First Russian soldier will stand trial in death of Ukrainian man, prosecutor says

Ukraine has announced the first Russian soldier set to stand trial in the death of a 62-year-old man in Ukraine’s Sumy region, according to a statement published by the country's prosecutor general's office on Wednesday.

The prosecutor general's office said it has filed an indictment against Vadim Shishimarin, commander of the military unit 32010 of the 4th Tank Kantemirov Division of Moscow region.

The investigation alleges the 21-year-old Russian killed an unarmed 62-year-old resident who was riding a bicycle along the roadside in the village of Chupakhivka in Sumy region on Feb. 28.

According to the statement, the Russian forces drove into the village in a stolen car with punctured wheels.

On the way, they saw a man returning home and talking on the phone, according to the statement. One of the Russians ordered a sergeant to kill a civilian so that he would not report them to the Ukrainian army. Shishimarin fired several shots through the open window of a car from a Kalashnikov rifle at the head of the resident, prosecutors allege.

"Shishimarin is currently in custody. Prosecutors and SBU investigators have gathered enough evidence of his involvement in violating the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He faces between 10 and 15 years in prison or life in prison," Ukraine's Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova said in a statement on Facebook.

CNN has contacted the Russian defense ministry for comment.​

Actually Reagan wanted to end the mutually assured destruction and break up the Soviet Union because we were ready to have a nuclear war. He was successful in that and also in pulling the US out of a recession and giving us and the world a prosperity that lasted for decades. What happened after the fall of the Soviet Union had to do with the Clinton administration. So let's not blame Reagan.

Baker had promised Gorbachev that Nato would not advance any further East. Roberts even wanted Russia to cut off all the gas to Nato countries in 2014, because he felt the neo cons were trying to throw us into a world war.

It was under Bill Clinton that our government turned into what it is today.

1 - Clinton restarted the Cold War with Russia by bombing Belgrade on false premises to break up Yugoslavia.

2 - Enabled the main stream media's to be bought up by 6 mega corporations, so that the same corporations that support our political candidates turned into Washington's propaganda networks.

3 - Made GMO's legal

4 - Gave government grants to private schools and universities that emphasized alternative life styles to change the moral fiber of our country.

 

No doubt about it- but what does this have to do with Biden being a way bigger war criminal. You were supposed to come up with one US war in the last 40 years where USA was as kind to civilians as Russia in Ukraine.

Then they can join NATO and everyone's happy. The people in NATO countries are doing much better than their eastern counterparts. Not perfect, but certainly better. You can even open your mouth and speak your mind in such countries.

 

Can you imagine what a nightmare it would be for Russia to try and hold that area? Never gonna happen.
