We have no business fighting for one of the most corrupted regimes in the world. Ukraine is a corrupted country run by handful oligarchs of their own. Corrupted bastards sending young folks to certain death while their bank acounts get larger and larger.

 

It would have been better if the invasion force stalled on the highway to Kyiv had been cut off and captured in the first few weeks.

 

Of course I am impacted. We should not be dependent on Russian oil. And we certainly should not remain dependent on it.

 

IMO, Carlson is exploiting the war to damage his political opponents.

 

Completely disagree. Why should I pay more for my electricity, gas and petrol? Considerably more. The US policy makers want the EU completely dependent on them. The US gas is far more expensive. The US arms aren't cheap either.

 

A talking head on cable news shouldn't even have political enemies.

Russia is the most corrupt country in the world. I would rank North Korea as second and Ukraine a distant 3rd.

 

Russia, China and then the US. The US is one of the most corrupt countries in the world, makes any country, except the top 2 look good.

 

Russia doesn't like us. They are never going to like us. Iran doesn't like us and Saudi Arabia thinks Biden is a weakling.

There is no logical reasoning to not want to be oil independent from all of these players.

'As per usual' you've completely missed the point. The claim was made that Russia could/would/should declare war on the West/NATO. 'Ukraine' wasn't the issue. And then there's the minor detail that this is the Ukrainian War thread, a topic that, like the war it discusses has been ongoing for months now. And it's a thread to which we've both been contributing almost from the outset. So if you think the claim I was responding to was 'sarcastic'? Prove it.

 

What explanation can be given that NATO with $1.2 trillion. military spending unable to crush Russia with $70 billion in military spending?

He's saying it is not Ukraine who declared war! Like I'm saying it was not somalia who declared war.

 

And I'm saying that wasn't the statement I was replying to. How hard is it for you to understand that? There was an earlier explicit comment made to the effect that Russia could declare war on NATO etc. That was the comment I was replying to, not some comment about Russia attacking Ukraine.

I also find it hard to grasp the concept that it is the country being invaded that is the one that 'declares war'. Excellent logic, akin to making the rape victim the one responsible for the attack.
