    In 1876, as the U.S. House of Representatives was about to vote on articles of impeachment against Secretary of War William Belknap over corruption charges, Belknap walked over to the White House, submitted his resignation letter to President Ulysses S. Grant and burst into tears.

    The House still went ahead and impeached Belknap, and the Senate tried him, with the impeachment managers arguing that departing office doesn’t excuse the alleged offense — otherwise, officeholders would simply resign to escape conviction or impeachment.

    And the Senate voted in 1876, by a 37-29 margin, that Belknap was eligible to be impeached and tried even though he resigned from office.

    That bill would allow federal judges to redact personal information displayed on government websites and bar people and businesses from publishing such information online if they have made a written request not to do so.

    The Senate Judiciary Committee advanced the bill on a bipartisan 22-0 vote in December, but attempts to quickly pass it unanimously in the Senate have been blocked by Republican Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, who says it should also cover members of Congress.

    I was replying to Steve N and his weak attempts to defend the fact that no action was ever taken against Hillary. He suggested that MGT “knew the right process” to which I replied as above. I was talking about MGTs habit of trying to impeach anyone and everyone she does not agree with

    I am so sick of seeing Faux news misinformation regurgitated here. My continuing embarrassment is that Rupert was born an Australian. I think when he was born he soaked up evil throughout the continent. He is one person whose grave I would happily dance on…..then drive a motorbike over……borrow a steam roller…..

    But, you have no problem with this judge working on the task force investigating Epstein that let him off with a wrist slap that allowed him to continue preying on young women for another dozen years, resigning from the DOJ task force and going work for Jeff Epstein? Now the DOJ did bar him from directly representing Jeffrey Epstein, but he sure represented several others in the organization, including this one, who the Judge referred to as his very own "Yugoslavian Sex Slave."

    Nothing more than a publicity stunt. The filing of impeachment paperwork on Garland is going nowhere in a Democratic controlled house. A total waste of time. Although it does get folks on political sites talking about it. This means absolutely nothing.
