When they funnel money through various charities to reduce their tax burden and then repay themselves (or buy homes / jets) with it.

There is a reason most very rich people have some type of “foundation” and it isn’t because they care about anyone.

We don’t have to claim anything, economists and the CBO do — republicans are the ones screaming what their news pundits feed them

I quoted your own words back to you and anyone can read them earlier in the thread.

If you can't own your words, the least you can do it NOT call others liars for quoting your words, because THAT is dishonest as hell

Well, there you have it. You used the EXACT words which I quoted from your own posts, which you denied uttering.

And you call me a liar. Go figure.

    Populist pseudo-cons are something else..........sigh

Your views ARE those of an anarchist. You are calling the efforts to collect the taxes which are owed a "government overreach" and "tyranny". That is how anarchists view the enforcement of the laws.

Seriously? Your words are there for all to see, and no one is re-wording anything. You are bending over backwards trying to defend the House efforts to protect tax cheats, so of course you are ok with tax cheats.

Nothing you say reflects that view. If you do not want to be taken for an anarchists, then stop talking like one.

There is $600 Billion uncollected revenue due to lack of resources, so an investment of $8B to collect $600B is a no-brainer, but the argument here is that to collect what is owed is an overreach and tyranny, which is borderline absurd.

$600 Billion is HUGE. It would fund almost the entire annual military budget. The only reason anyone would not want to collect it is to oppose for the sake of opposing.

Appeasing / protecting tax cheats is not a conservative view. Adding $600B in revenue would be a big step towards more balanced budget, and it would not increase tax rates one bit.

Still at it, I see. :truce:I accept your concession, again full of personal insult, ad hom fails, strawman fails, aka intellectual dishonesty. As I mentioned above, you cannot use cheap debate tricks and call it a win. Ignoring context, while calling others disparaging names that they are not, earns you no favor.
    Do better. At least try.

Yeah cuz these agents were just there to do audits of their clerks that's why they call them agents.

I don't care if they get to audit the IRS should be disbanded completely.

So if all this money is not going to hire new agents how are they going to collect all of these taxes?

8.8 million Americans admit to cheating in their taxes, but very few are caught because of IRS has been de-funded over the decades. It can land you in prison for 5 years. If 8.8 million willingly admit to such crime, then the real number is much higher.

How do they do it? Underreporting income. Over-deducting business expenses (home office deduction, job expenses, rental losses, schedule c expenses (business deductions). Reporting non-existing charitable contributions. Unreported gambling winnings. Not reporting tips and gifts. Some report made-up dependents. Etc, etc.....there are many ways and those with more complicated taxes are in better positing to cheat than those who receive simple W2 and taxes are automatically withdrawn from their paychecks.

Its same as stealing, so its surprising anyone would publicly come to their defense, but it seems many will do just that. According to Pew Research, 79% percent of people think that it is morally wrong to cheat on their taxes, so those people who think that going after the cheats its a "government overreach", or "tyranny" are in the minority.

    That does sound great!!!

The Democrats could hire a production company to help them perform some more kabuki theatre.

The Armed Governmental IRS Agents would enter the stage friendly and smiling.
They would proceed with a nice friendly Audit of the Democrat Representatives of The American People.
This will be done to gain the good will of ‘The American Taxpayers’. “See there is nothing to fear”

As the theatrics proceed… They will be hoping the ‘ordinary (peon) American Taxpayer’ will forget that the Governmental Armed Agents have been bought and paid for by The Democrats and have been designated to mainly audit ‘Them’.

Their intent being to fill the government coffers with ‘Their’ money for The Democrats to spend as they see fit… like all of their pet pork projects.
Pork projects that do absolutely nothing for the ‘ordinary American Taxpayers’.

Now, some of those pork projects are a means of making their Very Very Wealthy Democrat Political Donors benefit in some manner using American Taxpayers hard earned dollars.

I suspect, Those Very Very Wealthy Democrat Political Donors will not be fearful of those Armed Governmental IRS Agents that have been bought & paid for by The Democrats. Can’t bite the hand that feeds…The Democrat Political Party Campaigns.:twocents:;)

    What?
The bill is already signed into law.
McCarthy did nothing. That is all he's going to accomplish for the little time he has before his party tells him to get out.

    That is a good question.
What is missing is the link that connects the new guns and ammo to the new agents.

So you actually worked for the Federal Government in an armed capacity and that was 'OK' but you don't think that other US citizens working for the Federal government should be allowed to do the same thing?

And as for the fourth Amendment routinely being 'violated' by the IRS and Federal income tax? Why don't you go complain to the Supreme Court? They've pretty much set in stone the fact that both Federal Income Tax and search and seizure by the IRS is lawful provided it's complies with all the relevant legislation & procedures.

    Bad Supreme Court, bad!

nah, we litigators only were armed in special cases-my job -one of many-was to make sure those folks passed their firearms qualification courses which I shot perfect scores on because I was a professional level shooter. As i noted, the 16th amendment gave congress all sorts of powers that override the bill of rights

'in special cases' ??? Really? How does that in any way change my point? You carried a firearm 'in special cases' but IRS officers doing the same thing 'in special cases' is somehow wrong???

As for the rest of your post ?? WTF! Point (1) our saying part of your job was to ensure other Federal employees passed their firearm qualifications but somehow 'magically' these new employees of the IRS being recruited under the new Democrat sponsored bill are going to be handed a gun and told to 'work it out for themselves'? You seem to have no problem with Federal public servant's having firearms, just so long as you are the one doing the assessment! The word 'ego' springs to mind!

    (2) Point (2) Again take it up with Supreme Court. Beyond that? You don't like you fact that US citizens get to vote and approve amendments to the Constitution? Fine, move to a dictatorship where citizens don't have that right!

Collecting $600 Billion which is owed to the nation is a no-brainer, and even the most partisan politicians should realize this, but people don't think thigs thought, - they just repeat after their leaders

Yep. The internet makes a lot of stupid people more secure and confident in their stupidity, and most everyone is online these days. It's a sad time for American democracy as a result.

So this would include the Bill & Melinda Gats Foundation, yes?

    The Barack Obama Foundation?

    The Biden Foundation?

    The Bush Foundation?

The list goes on. Not a single one of the above does anything to help others, is that what you are claiming?

Because most of those audited are lower class earners, ordinary people.
