In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft — who is a Republican — said that he would remove President Joe Biden's name from 2024 ballots if the Supreme Court upholds the Colorado court's ruling, calling the ruling "disgraceful."

A sound decision to protect democracy from Fascist. Hopefully, other states follow his leadership. Should be plenty of Red states that can help protect democracy.

Missouri and the MAGA will not respect the SCOTUS decision if it is unfavorable to them.

    What a surprise.

And I predict that if Missouri removes Biden from the ballot, the odds of SCOTUS overturning that decision are 100%.

Hopefully other states follow Missouri and remove Biden. Our democracy is at stake.

    Has Biden been removed?

I think it's a wet dream that won't come true.

After the left moved to block Trump from the ballot (and cheered) I'm now wondering if they regret opening that can of worms.

If it's fair game(which it won't be) then why wouldn't red states do it? The States can determine for themselves apparently who is and isn't eligible LMAO.

When this was first announced, this was the obvious outcome. No matter if it's Trump or Biden, removing any qualified candidate is an attack on American democracy.

With our democracy in such great danger from Ole Joe, I wonder why the GOP won't simply bring a vote for impeachment in the House.

I mean, democracy is at stake according to rightists. The time is now! Do it Comer Pyle!

It takes a reason to remove a candidate from the ballot.

If SCOTUS is leaning toward removing Trump, it's because the judges will have determined that he participated in an insurrection or gave comfort to insurrectionists.

Good luck doing the same with Biden.

    But you can still dream.

Why bother? We can just remove from ballot. Work smarter, not harder.

    Yes, it is
Your problem is Colorado did it legally. If it stands or not remains to be seen but at least what they did was by the law. The Main decision was based on their decision. The jackwagon in Missouri is basing their decision on emotion only, so please, I hope more break the law like that one. Get rid of the problem.

No, you'll need the decision of a court. Good luck.

Really? What's the decision based on? What law was broken? Are you going to say the border? If you are, you do realize that nothing is different then when Trump was in office.

Right, but in Trump's case that hadn't been decided yet(that's what makes this novel, the States are attempting to use a disqualification clause, on someone who hadn't been charged with the offense. The President has used the 'insurrection' word in his speech, but his DOJ has not taken action. It's actually very similar to Trump's "lock her up". Political meat meant to throw to the bases, but no actual action surrounding it.)

If this novel theory passes, then no one needs to 'charge' Biden with insurrection, just find a Republican-leaning judge who agrees LMAO. It'll be totally destabilizing.

Miss SOS makes the decision. Nothing illegal about it. Everything you wrote is your opinion, and you have nothing to support your argument.

14th. Are you under the silly impression that you need a conviction in a COL to pursue this?

Prove what? You don't think Biden will appeal? What will need to be proven is that Biden engaged in insurrection. Again, good luck with that.

Prove your statement. You claimed the SOS needs the approved decision of a court. Prove that. Otherwise, you are just making it up.

SOS decides Biden did an insurrection. All thats needed. Are you being silly and think you need a conviction from a COL?
