'Russia’s FSB tries to link Ukraine to Moscow attack despite IS claiming responsibility'


'The director of Russia’s federal security service (FSB) informed Vladimir Putin that 11 individuals had been arrested in connection with Friday’s terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall outside Moscow, including four suspects involved in the shooting. Putin has not appeared or commented in public so far after the assault.

Islamic State, through an affiliated news agency, claimed responsibility for the attack late on Friday in a post on Telegram, in which they claimed the gunmen had managed to escape afterwards. A US official said Washington had intelligence confirming Islamic State’s claim.

There are already signs that Moscow will try to pin blame for the attack on Ukraine, despite the claim of responsibility by Islamic State. Without providing any evidence, the FSB on Saturday appeared to point the finger at Kyiv, saying that the gunmen were arrested while trying to cross into Ukraine. “They had contacts on the Ukrainian side,” the FSB said in a statement.

Kyiv has vehemently denied it had any involvement in the attack. “Ukraine certainly has nothing to do with the shooting/explosions in the Crocus City Hall,” Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the Ukrainian presidential administration, wrote on social media. “It makes no sense whatsoever. Ukraine has never resorted to the use of terrorist methods.”



"Russia’s FSB security service has told Putin that 11 people have been detained, including four people directly involved in the attack, Interfax cited the Kremlin as saying.

At least two suspects were arrested in the Bryansk region, some 340km (210 miles) southwest of Moscow, following a car chase, said politician Alexander Khinshtein, citing “preliminary information”. Other suspects fled into a nearby forest and are being pursued, he added.

The Kremlin did not immediately blame anyone for the attack, but some Russian politicians were quick to accuse Ukraine.'

Ukraine gains nothing from such an attack. OTOH, such attacks were used to justify the Russian/German aggression that triggered WW2 during the Soviet/Nazi Pact.

No, I if someone said something so callous about innocent Ukrainians I would say the same thing. But, I haven't seen anyone so callous say anything like that. The closest thing was when people attempted to mitigate the murder of Israelis at a concert because they were a couple miles from a prison where Hamas terrorists were being held. This is on par with those abhorrent views. And I called those comments out as well.

Feel free to point out someone mocking dead innocent Ukrainian civilians as "getting a taste of their own medicine" and I will gladly attack it. But good luck finding someone saying something so abhorrent. That's a one of a kind disgusting post that very few currently unbanned members would make.

There is no such thing as Ukrainian medicine. They are defending their country and their freedoms against Russian attack, hence "Russian medicine". They are the criminals and the murderers and their civilians are paying the price for supporting them.

It's highly unlikely that the FSB is lying to Putin. The Director of the FSB is Alexander Bortnikov, one of Putin's closest, most loyal friends and supporters since way back in the Soviet Union days.
