* Both Stewart and Trump have sold property for higher than the assessed value and higher than the list value. This is normal. NEITHER MAN FACED ANY LEGAL ACTION FOR DOING SO.
* What Trump is ACTUALLY facing fines for is for inflating property values BY LYING to lenders and investors. He lied about square footage of his property, the zoning of his properties (yes, that's a big one), the occupancy rates, whether or not they were rent controlled, and even lied about whether or not he had added a brand premium.
* If you want to argue that Stewart did exactly what Trump did, you have to show him lying about square footage, zoning, occupancy rates, rent control, brand premiums, etc.

Also, who is it that you think he lied to? He had no reason to lie to the banks. He wasn't the one getting a loan for the property.

It's a lie being spread by the New York Post. Jon Stewart (they don't even spell his name right) sold his home for much more than the property's previous assessed tax value. Which is normal. They want to pretend that's what Trump is in trouble for, when it isn't, so that they can play make-believe it is the same thing.
