 Up until 9/11 hijackings just diverted the aircraft on 9/11 the one hijacked aircraft where passengers knew that the plane was going to be rammed into a building - what happened?

Do you know how many hijackings have occurred in the USA since 9/11? None…..zero…..nada

So the logical people would stop, think and say “Gee prevention is better than cure”

Okay I am going to ignore most of this rubbish and focus on the claim that knives are more lethal than guns

https://gitnux.org/knives-vs-guns-s... guns are far more, higher than that of knives.
And to make it easier for you - here is a you tube

That is the self defense view now let me give you the medical view which is simple - a knife is a low velocity weapon whereas a gun is often a high velocity weapon - especially mass shootings. To give you real insight into this let me show you some pictures

He is upright ergo still living and conscious
    upload_2024-4-16_9-36-11.jpeg
    again upright ergo conscious
    upload_2024-4-16_9-36-55.jpeg
Pissed off cat but eyes open and conscious
    upload_2024-4-16_9-39-31.jpeg
Take it from me this patient would NOT be conscious. The energy from the bullet is transmitted to the tissue in the form of shock waves. In high powered guns this means that even if you “only” hit muscle there is a disruption effect that causes the tissue to breakdown - this is called a cavitation effect.

look if knives were more dangerous why are so many people in the USA buying guns? Why is not the UKs murder rate higher given the high knife crime rate?

what are you not able to do? Live in a country where your government trusts you to have the same weapons its civil authorities are willing to use against you. Live in a country where your government doesn't trust you

Why should they? If a government fully “trusted” its citizens there would be no laws at all, no police, no special commissions none of that

Remind me again about your objection to people from other countries commenting on internal politics and laws?

is a commentary on US gun laws?

And you didn’t read, did you…?

I specifically asked what I am unable to do, other than play at being Jesse James with a pistol on each hip…!

Oh….trust? The vast majority of voting Australians support those measures…

So again, where are my freedoms curtailed…? And speaking of which, can YOU walk into the foyer of ANY school in the US without passing a metal detector? Because I can in my country…

I learned long ago that once people have adopted a position, they cling to it like flypaper, despite contrary facts. The resistance to considering facts that conflict with your position ensures you won't have to change, won't have to contemplate being in error.

The thing that matters, that makes all the statistics- is not weapons, it's people. If that were not true- then people without weapons in hand would not be inclined to kill. But virtually everything is a potential weapon. There are a hundred things in your house that can be murder weapons. Not just the obvious like a kitchen knife- but down to a lampcord that can be used as a garrot, cleamning suplies that can poison, flammable like the gas for you lawnmower that can be made into molotovs. Hammers, screwdrivers, baseball bats, axes, tools of all kinds. Your house- is full of things that can be weapons. Do you kill people because you have weapons? No- because you don't want to kill. But- IF YOU DID, you wouldn't need to find a gun. You could use any of those things to kill.

I didn't say knives are more lethal than guns.BOTH can be lethal- depending on factors of the attack. What I said was that the survival rate from stabbings is less than that of gunshot wounds- pointing out that the knife is not a lesser weapon, just a different one. A person killed by a knife, a gun or a club- is still dead, and the weapon chosen has no guilt at all- it was only the tool of the person using it maliciously.

You want to see fewer murders. Fact is, all good people do. In the formula- the overall equation of murder, you have a person with motive to kill, a victim, and a means. Figure out which element you could remove from the formula that would end murders. You can't remove victims, that could be anybody at random. You can't remove means, because lacking all mechanical weapons- fists and feet are responsible for a considerable share of murders. That leaves you with one thing that can work. See if you can figure that out.

Twice now you have stated this

Which you have not supported by citation.

Although anything can be a murder weapon some allow the victim to defend themselves more easily.

The man with the bollard was a French national seeking a permanent visa - the Prime Minister has suggested we offer him permanent citizenship for his bravery
