No, I meant what I said. People keep asking "what are you saying", when they could just read the post and learn what was said.

No clue who "you guys" are. No one is making any "excuses" for anything. The attack was what it was, - a half assed effort to do something for the sake of doing something in order to save face. Feel free to disagree.

Anytime a country is attacked a spokesperson goes in front of the media and boldly claims a retaliation is in the works. Attempting to make Iran look like the good guys is absurd. Did Iran also warn Israel of the October 7 attack by their proxy Hamas? No.

Oh I'm reading your stuff, just wanted you to clarify because it sounded pretty dang silly. I'm shocked anyone would claim lobbing 300 missiles, including ballistic missiles, is a "half ass effort", like you said. That makes zero sense and is beyond foolish.

It was a little more than that. According to the information in the video (which includes interviews with many experts/retired defense officials like weapons inspector Scott Ritter):

    1. Iran telegraphed the attack because they did not want to expand this into a war. They wanted to show their capabilities. Israel and America were both aware of the attack before it hit.
    2. Iran was able to hit the most defended target on earth even when that target had advanced knowledge that an attack was incoming.
    3. They demonstrated the financial impossibility of anti-ballistic missile defenses. Billions of dollars to defend against an attack that cost a fraction of that to launch.
    4. This was an extremely effective warning to Israel and to America.
    5. If Israel retaliates, Iran will take the gloves off, Israel will be hit hard and the global economy will be shattered.
    6. Iran does not want war. Israel wants war with Iran with America to do majority of fighting.
    7. Nobody was killed in the attack because Iran didn't want to kill anybody. This was why they telegraphed the strike before executing it.
    8. The response was proportionate to the attack done on the Iranian consulate.

All of this sounds reasonable to me and I find myself believing this narrative.

I believe 5 ballistic missiles hit the Israeli airbase. The other 295 served their purpose. Overwhelming the most sophisticated air defense weapons in the world.

At least 9 Iranian ballistic missiles hit 2 different Israeli air bases. The propaganda and bogus woodoo math notwithstanding, that much is clear now.

Consider: Despite half a dozen countries helping Israel, Israel couldn't stop Iran from hitting 2 sensitive Israeli airbases 1,500 km from Iran housing respectively their F-35 and F-16 fleets, despite Iran's plans to hit them being already shared with the US and Israel. To hit those bases, Iran fired 12-20 advanced missiles. Most of the rest of the projectiles used by Iran were old junk and decoys. Half of them weren't even intercepted but simply malfunctioned.

    https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news...-damaged/0000018e-e0d0-d7e5-a1fe-e7d1bf3a0000
U.S. Reports: Half of Iranian Ballistic Missiles Failed, Aircraft Damaged in Israeli Air Force Base; UAE, Saudis Shared Intel
Reports on the other air base that was hit are being censored. The Telegraph reported the damage to that other base was "substantial".
    p.s.
It isn't like we don't have a history of false reporting of effectiveness to ABMs when it comes to the US/Israel! The numbers become ridiculous and fishy when the success rates suddenly are reported in 99-100% nonsense. Especially when those same reports contradict their own bogus math!

    Just as a reminder:
In 1991, U.S. officials and media excitedly reported a 100-percent success rate for the system, with claims that Patriots had intercepted Scud missiles launched from Iraq at Israel and Saudi Arabia. But the following year, Congressional hearings found that these claims were misleading and highly inaccurate. I was the lead staffer for the House Government Operations Committee investigation.

Rather than destroying 41 of 42 Scuds engaged, as President George H.W. Bush [and the Pentagon and Israel] claimed at the end of the war, investigators from the Congressional Research Service and the General Accounting Office determined that Patriots only hit between zero and four of 44 Scuds engaged.

And we cannot go on like this, using million dollar missiles to counter thousand dollar drones. I think we need to start looking at developing advanced gun systems like Phalanx and Goalkeeper.

This is likely the real reason Iran fired it's sewer pipe rockets. Bring down Israel economically.

IMO, Israel should NOT have hesitated a single minute in it's response. They should have immediately began airstrikes on Iranian territory, to send a strong message of what Iran could expect if they ever try something like this again.

The Israelis are laughing alright! Except the Israelis are already expressing regret and admitting they badly miscalculated Iran's response to their attack on Iran's consulate...

Uh huh, wonder what would happen if Isreal responded in kind, 300 missiles for 300, you think 6 will only get through? I don't want it for the Iranian people, the terroristic arm of their government is the problem, and will face the music soon enough. There is literally nothing they can do to stop up it.

You can fall for the propaganda to your heart's desire. Iran did not fire 300 missiles. The bulk of that number is composed of slow moving drones and missiles sent as decoy, with half of those missiles 'malfunctioning' because they were duds. Iran fired 12-15 legitimate MRBMs and all but (at most) 3 hit their targets. Their targets being the among the most sensitive and well protected air bases and radar intelligence installations in the world. They hit these targets despite the US/Israel being given advance notice they would be hit, with the Israelis evacuating these bases of all non-essential personnel and sending everyone else in bunkers. ...

btw, Israel is believed to have only 24-30 missiles (Jericho 3) missiles with the necessary range to hit Iran. Most if not all carry nukes.

We shall see but one thing is for sure their air defense is better than Iran's air attack capabilities.

The only that is sure is the incredible propaganda machinery working at the behest of the Israelis, coupled with legal restrictions on taking satellite imagery over Israel and their exclusive control of the flow of information about the military targets hits, will help a large number of people quite misinformed and deluded about the facts. We are still in the very early stages for any proper assessment on the issue, but for now we know that 2 Israeli air bases were hit by "at least 9" Iranian missiles. The US/Israel claimed 110 ballistic missiles had been fired, of which half had malfunctioned, leaving 55 to be intercepted. A majority of these 55 missiles were Shahab 3 (went into service in 2003 ) and Emad (2015) MRBMs with suggestions that a dozen Kheibar Shekan missiles (2022) also used. Israel has not given any information on how many MRBMs were intercepted by the IDF except showing remnants of one single Emad missile. that had been shot down. US and all the rest (UK, France, plus several Arab states) shot down 6 such missiles. Until Israel releases figures on how many ballistic missiles it claims to have intercepted, anywhere between a minimum of 9 of 55 to a maximum of 48 of 55 MRBMs fired hit their targets (e.g. Nevatim air base, another air base, possibly a radar and intelligence base called site 51 in the Negev, and a base in the Golan etc). At best, the interception rate by Israel and the US led coalition against MRBMs was 85% and at worst less than 15%.

If you ignore the propaganda and bogus math, some of this you can glean even from the analysis by the pro Israel Foundation for Defense of Democracies:

Biden allowed Iran to make billions by ignoring the sanctions against them

Iran is reporting several drones (3) being shot down over Isfahan with eyewitnesses reporting hearing some loud noises, which can either be from air defense systems or small missiles fired from drones. The target appears to have an airbase housing Iranian fighter aircraft including F14s. There appear to be more serious attacks against targets in Syria and Iraq.

Unlike Israel, there are no restrictions on satellite imagery over Iran, the international media will spin the story in a way that fits the propaganda in mind, and Iranian "dissidents" can freely film things and feed fact or fiction as required by the spin. I await to hear what Israel has to say as the US is the side running with these stories for now. Israeli acknowledgment and declaration of intent will be significant in deciding the nature of Iran's response IMO.

How did Biden “ignore the sanctions”?

As far as I know, America has sanctions against Iran and enforces those sanctions. I work in compliance and it’s news to me that those sanctions are being ignored.

If you listen to the talking heads on TV, when they talk about Iran and what Biden can do about the dump, they say when Biden ignored the sanctions that were in place, Iran started to make hundreds of billions of dollars in oil sales. That money funds Iran's military and the terror groups currently attacking Israel.

That waiver didn’t send money to Iran. It was frozen Iranian money that was sent to Japan and S Korea.

Iran tried to sell oil, the funds for the oil were seized, then a waiver granted so those funds could be released to companies that Iran owed money to.

Do you bother to apply any critical thinking to the misinformation circulating in the RW echo chamber?

Horse crap. Think just once. How would the US or Biden in isolation be able to stop Iran from sending oil and gas to China and Russia. God man just try once to understand what a global market is.
