I think the US studies war and learns and there is American blood in pretty much every conflict in the world. What we may need to consider is our political leadership. I think the only reason why we're on the Ukraine side is because Russia seeks to destabilize the dollar as world currency. China and Iran wish to do the same thing.

The more money we print the lower the value goes and the more strength Russia has to destabilize the dollar.

The best thing we can do is focus really strong and hard I'm not just reducing inflation but maybe even a little deflation. This will go further to protect Ukraine than giving them increasingly less valuable dollars as they exhaust themselves.

The US is not just sitting by at all. The UxV ("drone") warfare is a good example. We are monitoring that closely. The data is being analyzed in detail by the "Center for Lessons Learned" at Ft Leavenworth. The conclusions are being integrated into the scenarios played out at Fort Irwin, Fort Polk and Twenty-Nine Palms. Ultimately, the results will change US military doctrine in significant ways. UxV's is only one element of study from Ukraine that is being processed this way.

 

The M1 tanks we sent are top of the line. So are the MLRS variants (HIMARS), Patriot PAC-3's, Javelins and more. The Stingers are slated to be phased out with a new system and Bradley's days may be numbered, but just about everything else is top of the line... not "slated for decommissioning" at all.
