Honey, I'm so sorry. I am praying for you for God's strength and support to help you through this.
I lost my Dad two years ago and can't even think about him w/o crying, so I know how you feel. It's tough; very tough.
    Take care, darlin'.

I lost mine about 15 years ago jed,,feels like Yesterday. Nothing replaces a Mom. She was sick for some time but I myself do not know the exact cause.

That's nice Kranes, my parents were taken care of real well, they had us four boys and we always took care. Some kids do not do that, it's a shame. Whats that old saying?
One parent can take care of five kids, but five kids cant take care of one parent.

We have to have our happy moments. It's what I learned when I went to funerals.

Thank you , Flounder , for doing this in honor of my Mother , and of our sincere friendship that we have shared for many years now... and I include Changed in that as well...

I did not expect this and am overwhelmed at the kindness shown by my dear friends on PF in the passing of my Mother...

I am hoping to thank everyone in a private PM for their kindness and words of comfort to me in this time of my grief ,,, but for now , it's just very hard for me to do so ,, so I hope you all understand ...

For those of you that have lost parents , you know what I'm going through...

For those that still have living Mom's & Dad's , let them know every day that you Love them , every day...

I am adding this , my Mothers Life Alert system didn't work .... so if someone you Love is depending on a Life Alert System , then you need to be making some phone calls to these people and asking some hard questions...

I took care of my Mom for 3 years before she died... I was hospitalized myself in Dec 2010 , and was recouperating at my home when Mom died... she depended on that Life Alert System to get her 911 assistance , and it didn't work...

It is hard to contemplate anything more cruel than for an old woman in poor health , that didn't drive , had no cell phone , lived alone , to die at her kitchen table while her Life Alert system that she depended on played a recorded message " It's time for a test of your Life Alert System ,,, but nobody ever came on the phone to see if she needed help ...

and it went on for at least 2 days....

I guess it's the old story, you just do not realize how important they are until it's too late. I'm not saying we would ignore them on purpose, but the way the world moves today it's hard to find time, it's one of those things one must do. The elderly do not need much, a simple phone call goes a long way. If we show our children by example how important their Grandparents are it strengthens the family unit, and the rewards come back tri fold. It's the family's that keep America strong, not the individual.

Old people are so important. I miss my Gran something powerful. I can't explain it, when I see an old person sometimes the pain is almost overwhelming and I have to move away. I don't think I'll ever get over that. I'm sure she had no idea how much she was valued.

I can understand Hill Billy. My Dad was misdiagnosed and then died of the illness which was overlooked. If you have strength to, you could raise the issue with the responsible people in that company and push them to do what they can to make sure it doesn't happen again. I have to admit I did not have that strength at the time. I was 21 when he died and knew nothing. Now, I'd sue them for incompetence and not feel a bit guilty about doing it - if they did that to him, they are causing the same heartbreak to others also.

After he died, my Mother spent a lot more time with us. We saw her every day and then she'd go home and phone me:-D. It was a lot, as I was independent and not in the habit of spending time with her, but she survived Dad by only a few years and Flounder is right that you should appreciate every minute you have with them. You never regret that time.

Thank you for telling me. It's good that we remeber our love ones, living or dead. I hope that people will learn from this, so we never have to go through this feeling again.

Thank you , my friends , for what you have said in your posts ... I've read each and every one , and I treasure them all ... thank you , and may God Bless ...[IMG]

My friends , if I may , I'd like to close this thread by reading a passage from a new antique book I recently acquired , and bear with me , I must give credits ,

    The quote is from a 1st Edition Good-bye , My Lady by author James Street , 1941 , , , and I quote :

" Bring forth only the echo of the melody of what used to be --- the beauty of the sprouting years , the hope of longing , then the misery of loving something that must grow old . all this the mystery that the old man felt and could not say , this miracle of man's life on God's earth."
