I think foreign policy might actually work best.

    What's your view on Taiwan?

Has been, is, and always will be a part of China; whether under the PRC or any other future 'dynasty'.

I'm already in a debate and I'm opposed to it. I'll be honest and note my argument against it isn't as strong as I know the one in favor of legalization is.

So I take it you decline? :smile:I'm a conservative libertarian and I support legalization... It's one of my strongest arguments.

I honestly don't think I have enough time right now for a serious debate anyways...

Still waiting for your reply? Since you have become a groupie of tea, I thought you would be quick to offer up a country to support tea's argument.

Really? Then regarding the position that tea holds by allowing anyone and everyone to vote in US elections, how is that not factual that it would hurt our nation?

Name one nation on earth that allows that type of voting?

It is tea's opinion, but that opinion is damaging to a society, and that is a fact regarding the original debate of states passing strict voter ID laws. And yes I vehemently disagree with teas position because that type of thought is what has (*)(*)(*)(*)ed up California.

    It's off-topic, but alas:

That's his opinion. What other nations do is irrelevant. Your opinion differs.

I was tempted to engage some of the earlier posts/posters, but then I realized, what with being new and all, I should attempt some concrete brown-nosing and just respond as requested.

    Hell yeah. I'm in.
So what if I lose because of biased judging? Because of some technicality? Irrelevant. The thrill of going toe to toe with anyone always gives me a rush every single time (and a broken nose plus two broken fingers too).

    Bring it on!

injest,,,why we write to loud? We have been doing this forever. Nobody has ever interrupted my debates with anybody. ESPECIALLY if they are asked not too. People are making too big of a deal with this.

It will be ONE section of a huge forum. No one will be twisting your arm to participate nor barring the door to keep you from doing so.

I think you started your protest of this as a knee jerk reaction to what you wrongly see as a liberal plan and now even though every one of your points has been addressed ad nauseum you haven't figured out how to gracefully back down.

If you don't like the idea, just don't participate. Isn't that a conservative's favorite argument, if you don't like it then go elsewhere? Well, in this case you don't even have to leave the forum, just don't go in that section if it bothers you so much.

All this does is offer another avenue to do what we PF members love best, debate. It's just another choice. And having choices is what freedom is all about. I'd think a conservative would be in favor of that.

reading the three debates down there, the very first post resulted in responses that were deleted by mods, so a method of letting two people have a conversation that is not interrupted might be nice. I would like to see it tried.

the judging thing doesn't bother me either way.

I'd support a sub forum for one on one debate. I'd also like to participate.

Has any kind of structure/rules been developed, or are we still just testing the water?

(sorry, no way I was going to read through the entire thread)
