WASHINGTON - A freelance radio host was fired from a documentary program that airs on NPR affiliates after she became a spokeswoman for a Washington protest because her producers believed she violated the public radio network's code of ethics, the host said Thursday.

Lisa Simeone said she was fired the previous evening from "Soundprint," a music documentary show that isn't produced by NPR but is aired by its affiliates across the country. She said the head of Soundprint Media Center Inc., which produces the show, read NPR's code of ethics to her before she was fired.

NPR also questioned Simeone's involvement in the "Occupy D.C." protest and said its ethics code applies to the shows it carries. But NPR said Simeone doesn't work for the radio network, and it hadn't pressured Soundprint to fire her.

Simeone also hosts "World of Opera," a show produced by North Carolina-based music and arts station WDAV. That program is distributed by NPR. She said that station is supporting her so far.

This wasn't a surprise to those of us who actually read their ethics code and the lack of NPR's initial response.

I'm sure a Soros front group will pick her up.

Didn't he give NPR/PBS a million dollars to hire reporters? Why don't they just pick her up with that fund? She's exactly qualified for them.

Now wait... Shouldn't liberals throw a hissy fit now and boycott NPR for firing her?

After all, ESPN fired Hank Williams "for his beliefs" and we saw how mature a lot of conservatives acted after that.

I wonder if we'll see the same uproar among liberals over this.

Pretty muvch everyone gives to NPR and PBS, from Soros, to the government, to the Koch brothers, to their main supporter, the American people.

So NPR got scared of bad press and the continued drum beat of getting their funding cut so they fired her..

Surprise, surprise.... I guess NPR DOES like money after all :) hahahaha

    Im sure youre correct.

It took approximately 8 hours since I first called to defund NPR, for this to happen.

It shouldnt be necessary, but I guess common sense is too much to ask for, when dealing with the left handed...

Hank Williams believes the south should have won the civil war. WTF is patriotic about that?

Its pretty evident she didn't review this with her management before she did it as we predicted.

Thats probably why the predictable liberals who defended her aren't around in this thread

Do you enjoy being dishonest? It was a song, IF the south would have won

And it was a SONG genius. Not a single racial mention anywhere in it.

Do you think the Dave Matthews band really thinks Ants march?
