encouragement and making help available to the obese would be ok, but forcing anyone to do anything is just wrong.
I guess it depends on the country. Like this one, for example: New Zealand Immigration News: UK wife prevented from joining husband | www.immigration2newzealand.com
Why is it wrong? Fat people are addicted to food like a meth addict is addicted to meth, they want to be skinny but they cant controll themself, it is our duty to FORCE them to be healthy, for their own good.
its your (*)(*)(*)(*)ed duty to mind their own friggin business to be honest. truthfully this country would be a hell of alot better off without a bunch of nosey ass people running around tryin to tell people what the hell they should and shouldnt do. their life is their life, let them live it. its called personal responsibility and if they decide to go on a donut binge then thats not your (*)(*)(*)(*) problem. if they decide to better themselves and go on a healthier diet then good for them. live your own life, stay out of everyone elses. its that simple.
No free man should be compelled against his will. This is why government shouldn't be meddling in healthcare as it will soon lead to more things such as dietary and further the fascist government.
You can't force people to do something they don't wish to do. You can, however, encourage them to lose weight. Sometimes people wanting lap banding surgery have to lose weight before they can have the surgery, so if it were a kind of thing like that, it might not be so bad.
you can in fact force people to do things they don't want to do. just sayin... also, what about the 47% of americans who don't pay income tax? should they get the hell out? or maybe pay some income tax too?
What about skinny people who are more prone than fat people to have heart disease, suffer cardiac arrest, suffer infections, diabetes, and other problems? It's not the fat that's the problem, it's diet and exercise. People who aren't up on current health research and blame everyone over appearances should have their public access to healthcare terminated and be forced to buy into a healthcare pool for stupid and angry people. Stupid and angry people typically die at a younger age than others.
"The 47 percent number is not wrong. [...] But the modifiers here federal and income are important. Income taxes arent the only kind of federal taxes that people pay. There are also payroll taxes and investment taxes, among others. And, of course, people pay state and local taxes, too." http://www.theatlanticwire.com/business/2010/04/47-percent-don-t-pay-taxes-no-big-deal/24826/
Leave them alone. Isn't enough that they will die early? Hopefully without too much health investment in their departure.
Not all obese people are "addicted to food".. Many have a medical problem,, hormone imbalance, unregulated metabolism for example. There are also prescription drugs which contribute to weight gain. Do these people also go to camp?
He's one of the fat bastards we'd get, of course. He's not a communists so he has to protection from the government. No, really fat people don't necessarily want to lose weight. I've known some, and been related to one, who had absolutely no interesting in losing weight. We really can't overlook the pleasure Americans get out of making people do things. Take that flag down, paint you house the proper color, no bird feeders in our town, quit using these words and start using those words or face jail. It's sad.
No..but i do think they should pay higher rates on certain services that are applicable to their (unhealthy)weight. Obesity and overweight people cost a lot of governments a lot of money, and leads to an unhealthy life for the individual. While it should always be their choice to eat what they want (within reason, clearly you cant eat people) it should also carry understandable penalties. Smokers pay higher rates on applicable services because they willingly partake in an unhealthy habit, so why shouldn't larger people pay higher rates for travel expenses and health care related things? Although the way i understand it, they already do.
Interesting. But the real question is what does makkede think, should people who don't contribute by paying income tax "get the hell out"?
Fat people should be forced to run on large hamster wheels for the amusement of our budding darwinian dictator.
and what scale shall we use? the one from the 1990s or the new one they just came up with? see, what the casual poster may not know is that the government sets the scale...and they manipulate it. obesity isn't a hard and fast rule. pretend you have one hundred people and twenty are at a BMI of under 20, twenty are at a BMI of 21 to 25, twenty are between 26 and 30, twenty are between 31 and 35 and the last twenty are over 35 now if the USDA says that 31 and over is considered obese then you have a 40% obesity rate... if the USDA comes back and says "Oh we changed our minds, 26 and over is obese" then all of a sudden the obesity rate goes up to 60%...even though no one's weight has changed. The people are the same, only the rules have changed. so don't take the whole USDA says we have x% of obesity too seriously. what they call obesity now isn't what they called obesity then.
