Every time I hear the Good Book referred to as a fairy tale it makes we wonder if such disdain comes from it saying its wrong to chase fairy tail.... not sure if it applies to you, but that seems to be the norm these days...

The thing that strikes me...is that some may think there is a war on Christianity and Christmas.

The last few weeks have me convinced that if there is a war....though I don't see much evidence there is...Christianity is winning on all fronts

Well, it not wrong to chase a fairy tale if you like, but its wrong to pass laws to force OTHER PEOPLE to chase it or pay for it.

More accurately, here THEY go again.

When all else fails, the right wing-nuts in this country trot out their hairy Himmler in the skies, claim that THAT is the ONLY God and THEIRS is the ONLY version of Christianity that is valid, and then, with their usual combination of stupidity, ignorance and bigotry, start screaming GODLESS LIBS!!! What scum.

Fact is there are all kinds of the cristian religion cults in the USA. and they may have more people that identify with them. But the fact is the isreal people dominate them in all aspects of law, media industry, entertainment industry, economics, banking, lending, university heads, and the politician of the USA. So in that respect, the jeuwish religon dominates the USA.

And this is more significant than a dominant religion.

George 09:11, thou shalt not spin the media too much for simple people who graze the Americas with cristan walk about.

Dick 20:03, As the chosen one, I will make others pay me and my brothers for the sacrifices of others for my all might benifit.

Rumsfield 30:01 Cunniglious Rice and the great power of Powell will be tokens of maipulation on the meek.

Read: Apiscophlaopians: Teblow is going to throw 4 more interceptions duing the next game, 2 of which will be Defensive touchdowns. As the loard would have it no other way.

You do see that Atheists, according to this, are the 2nd largest group, right? That means we're larger then both the Jewish and Muslim populations. Plus, we've been growing rapidly, Atheists and non-believers were just 2% in the 90s. Don't start bragging just yet...

This is a textbook example of the fallacy known as ad populum, which is known more informally as appeal to the crowd, appeal to the majority, etc. Basically it goes like this.

    1. A majority of people believe X.

    2. There's a presumption that what a majority of people believe is true.

    3. Therefore, there's a presumption that X is true.

Premise 2 is obviously false. A majority of people believed that the Earth was the center of the universe and that the Earth was flat. Numbers alone were on their side. However, they were WRONG. Also, I could go into a predominantly Muslim nation, and a majority of the population would be Islamic. Clearly it would not follow that Islam was therefore true. And...what if 70% states decided they wanted to take away gun rights? Do the numbers alone make them correct?

Another example is Barack Obama, who by your post, I would venture to say you probably did not vote for. However, 53% of Americans DID vote for him. What's your solution to that little problem? Does that mean Obama was the superior candidate? Democracy is really based on this fallacy. But your answer would clearly be no, since you did not vote for him, it would be absurd for you to say he was the best candidate simply because more people chose him.

The only time numbers matter are when the numbers are composed of actual experts. For example, if a majority of pulmonologists said smoking was bad for you, then their opinion would hold more weight because they were specifically trained in the field they were speaking about. Polls have consistently shown Americans are not nearly informed enough to be making judgments about who should run a country.

So in conclusion, while these numbers are interesting, and non-believers are actually growing in the United States, up to 15%, your assumption that numbers alone prove truth is fallacious. This is a common fallacy that occurs regularly, and that one learns in an INTRODUCTORY critical thinking or logic course in college. It's advisable you should probably try to avoid it in the future if you want to convince anyone of your positions.

Although the majority of people will select "Christian" in a poll, in reality this is as important to the average person as what their hair or eye color is. It's just something they are born with and don't really think too much about it.

I'm just talking about using common sense.

Do you know what Theocracy is?

I'm just pissed when I found out my city banned employee Christmas decoration.

    Good for Christians.

    Why would I mind?

I am fine with people choosing to believe what people chose to believe.
I know some Christians for instance that chose to believe that Catholics are not really Christians.

Just dont' force your religion upon me or my children and I am fine with whatever you or anyone else chooses to believe in.

I don't want to remove God from your society. I do want seperation between church and state. Some of the stuff is just silly in my opinion- I don't care whether there is a menorral or a Christmas tree or even a cross during Christmas- just so long as all religions have equal opportunity to use the same public space.

Oh yes- activist Judges. Enforcing our Constitution.

Funny how 'activist judges' are always the ones that make a ruling someone doesn't like, and never ones that they agree with.

Sounds to me like you don't just want Christianity to be the majority religion- you want it to be the DOMINANT religion that all others must bow down to.

    I find that sad.

But we still have to worry about Muslims. That 0.5% of the population is trying to take over and rape our babies.

Well, divine maybe, but if I understand those teachings correctly, then if this faith were so true, influential or not, most of the people in your parish would be giving away all their wealth and providing the supplication of a servant to the sick and needy of your vicinity. Does this happen often where you are? I don't really see it here at all. Churches here seem to be acclimated to all sorts of extravagant levels of consumerism, at least so long as one makes appropriate contributions to the church building fund as well.

That's fine. It seems to me that everyone who feels bettered by visiting a church or other house of worship from time to time should do so. Of course, I would say the same for a tavern, bowling alley, or billiards parlor. Still, if religion fills a void, then go for it.

Despite your continued silly attempts at mitigation, NO OTHER RELIGIONS' MEMBERS are routinely attacking , and slaughtering innocents, WORLDWIDE, in the NAME OF THEIR god, besides the followers of the bloody mayor of Medina.

The USA-Today/Gallup poll citing the ominous fact that about 25% of young male American muslims 16-35, SUPPORT SUICIDE BOMBINGS; that's roughly 1.7 MILLION muslim men who are potential terrorists,LIVING IN AMERICA, if one carries the point to its logical conclusion.

NO OTHER RELIGION has these views, in such vast numbers...

Then I guess that explains the dozens and dozens of terrorist attacks carried out in America by American Muslims. Oh...
