About time some American came out and said it in so many words..though it has been a long time coming. Most British Jews said it in 1922.

I think regardless of what led up to it, Israel earned their statehood ...again.. during the 6 day war, a tremendous military accomplishment.

That said. We Americans have dumped billions of dollars into their economy, billions of dollars into updating their military, they have nukes. The leaders admit they do not need our help. They are powerful country in the Middle East.

So why am I paying for their welfare? Why do our own have to go without to fund a country that is capable of taking care of itself?

Are they a bunch of bums? Do they not work? Do they not know the value of earning your keep?

If the significantly smaller amount of aid to our closest and most vital ally becomes a political issue it will be cut and that won't be a problem. The real question is why are people always on about Israeli aid and not aid to Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, "Palestine" and all the other people who want to eat our livers?
