'Ron Paul wishes Israel didn't exist'

"I worked for the man for 12 years (and) I never heard a racist word expressed towards Blacks or Jews come out of his mouth… I can categorically say that I never heard anything out of his mouth, in hundreds of speeches I listened to over the years, that could be called, anti-Semite," he writes

Former senior aide to Republican presidential hopeful says that while Paul is not an anti-Semite, he believes Israel is 'more trouble than it's worth'

But according to Dondero, the elderly congressman "wishes the Israeli state did not exist at all."

The congressman's former aide insists in his blog that Paul expressed the controversial sentiment "numerous times in our private conversations."

Paul's view, he said, "is that Israel is more trouble than it is worth, specifically to the America taxpayer. He sides with the Palestinians, and supports their calls for the abolishment of the Jewish state, and the return of Israel, all of it, to the Arabs."

Following Dondero's statement, Executive Director of Republican Jewish Coalition Matthew Brooks said that the former senior aide's blog "simply confirmed what we already know – Paul is against the Jewish State of Israel."

Brooks had previously called Paul's views on Israel "misguided and extreme." He was also excluded from a Republican presidential candidates' panel hosted by the Republican Jewish Coalition in November

    WOW!

If this story has any merit, he will be another candidate off the map

But boy i do like the idea that some politicians are waking up

Such views, or even the true portrayal of them, could help Paul's bid. You can see by responses to discussions of Zionism on this forum, for example, that Americans are no longer willing to have Zionist propaganda shoved down their throats. Paul will appeal to them from that perspective- as well as from other sane and alternative views he holds.
There will be a wave of anti-semitosis, certainly, because so many of America's media outlets are Zionist-controlled, but Paul can weather all that character-assassinating bollox that's now associated with AIPAC.

Wouldn't it be interesting- an anti-Zionist Republican opposing an AIPAC-enslaved Democrat ? I can say one thing for sure. If Paul wins the nomination then the worst offenders in the AIPAC machinery can kiss their asses goodbye- and that includes all of the Israel Firsters degrading US politics in Washington.

Wonderful if he could break through the AIPAC-imposed prevention of discussion. They are very powerful though.

So, going with hear say from a former aide that Ron Paul said something in private while his actions show the opposite of the claim, is something you take on faith?

Bet we can find people saying how much Santorum hates gays and want to get rid of them.

Bet we can find someone to say Romney is a liberal under the guise of a GOP candidate.

Bet there are more than enough people to say Newt is coruptable more so than Obama.

We can go on and on, the fact is Ron Paul has never said that publicly, or acted like that. All he has done is listen to what the PM of Israel has said himself. They don't want our help.

Are there a lot of people who are sick of Israelis or are there a lot of people who are sick of reading about Israelis? I don't seem to see or hear that much of Israel in the main stream media or in internet news.

It's typical of anti-Semites and anti-Israeli xenophobes to over-inflate AIPAC's influence in American politics and attitudes. Now, you two have done it, too. I'm shocked, shocked I say...

My daughter works in media. She points to the obvious fact that if anyone criticises the racists occupying Palestine, the calls, letters and posts just don't stop coming: it is a military operation by the nazis - and most of them, of course, quack about 'anti-semites'. This is where police-states start. Heil Netemyahu!

The thread is on a politician that knows israel is one of the greatest global issues, period!

From iran to syria, egypt and gaza to this little forum, israel is an issue world wide. Simply because they influence people (AIPAC) politically, violently (Gaza, westbank, jeruselem), and economically (from the current issue on the straights of hormuz, to the oil crisis of the ME. Today, caused an oil spike with sissyreal as a core cause; based on fear and threats, not agressive actions by iran)

To suggest the issues with israel are small, shares the ignorance of the irresponsible and inhumane acceptance of bias, created by hypocracy.

That shouldn't come as a surprise, Bishadi - most Americans support Israel...

    http://www.gallup.com/poll/146408/americans-maintain-broad-support-israel.aspx

When a political candidate's views don't correspond with those of the majority of the public, it's to be expected that they would not "make it" at the polls. If you've got a problem with democracy, come right out and say so.

Your question is a false construct. As WildJoker5 pointed out, Paul wasn't quoted as saying such. Perhaps, you should go back and read his post (#6)...

well, at least he was honest enough to share a truth that i understood; That if news people go against israel, the ignorant will call in to the media company and whine about anti semitism.

Perhaps he should have said, israel is a nazi punk blank blank blank state that is influencing the media publications by whinning within the hitler style leadership of a big bibi.

    think on that a minute

lots of religious wingnuts are stupid
    i like fair reporting.

heck, if americans of the 40'-80's knew that israel was a religious state, they would not have bought and paid for their nuclear weapons base.

i read the article and many more. Notice where is came from? Notice the israelis audiance? notice how media can screw up truth?

Do you notice the double edged sword of this thread and post?
