‘Don’t shoot him no more!’ California police face backlash over killing of man in Walmart

With the focus on coronavirus we haven't had a highly publicized racial incident in a while. Will this be the next one? Who's right and wrong here:

 

Well if the cops version is correct then they were correct. A bat most certainly is a dangerous weapon and crazy dude getting a head start can kill someone with one swing.

 

You see this is how it works with liberals, the cops are supposed to just know that the person is having a mental episode and let him bash in brains until he is exhausted because he is not responsible for his actions.

 

The family is seeing dollar signs even though its their fault for allowing him to be in that situation in the first place. The police don't know the difference between someone trying to harm them and someone having a "mental crisis".

 

Just some Trigger-Happy Cops (with a bad case of Cabin Fever) taking their frustrations (over the quarantine) out on an Innocent Citizen.

Hopefully the family sues for millions and these cops face consequences for this cold-blooded murder.

Everybody is frustrated over the lockdown, but they don't go around murdering people.

These cops need to be held accountable.

 

How important is it that this doesn't mention the baseball bat:

 

Excellent Job officers!

It’s obvious these officers were (justifiably) defending themselves against a man who (obviously) was an absolute evil nutcase. They removed his violent self from existence, saving not only themselves but the bystanders as well, and perhaps even that mans family and friends from a future attack.

The world is a better place now that this evil person is gone. Hopefully the police are given medals for their GREAT service to our society.

 

Lighten up until you see the video.
Sounds like they shot a lunatic that was a threat to the public.

The video will tell the true story, so don’t go Ferguson on what may be a legit shooting.

It is only racial because the lunatic was black & the cop was white.

If a black cop shot a white guy, race would not be an issue and you know it.

 

Cold-blooded murder???

This was one of the worst cases of suicide by Cop that I ever heard of.

I hope the Cops bill the family for the bullets and other related expenses involved in this case.

 

What's your plan of action if confronted by a disturbed individual with a blunt object? Sing "Imagine" and embrace, lollipops and rainbows?

 

I don't understand, why has anyone got a problem with this? The officers acted correctly.

 

Easy. Leave him alone. The guy had a baseball bat. He was not charging at the Cops. He was backing away from them. Jayzuz, if Coppers can't defend themselves against a retreating guy with a baseball bat without shooting him to death, they should not be Coppers.

 

What a load of rubbish! The Taylor Swifts of this world do not go around attacking people with bats. If they did I'd have no problem with them being shot too.

 

And leave him to attack and kill other people in the shop?

 

Innocent citizen? Insane man going crazy with a baseball bat? The police aren't in lockdown, they're essential workers as this incident clearly shows. Cops always are held accountable. Here as in 99.9% percent of cases they did nothing wrong.

 

No, but if he attacked other people...sure...shoot him if that was necessary to protect others. But, I saw no evidence of that being the case.

 

Innocent people. Did the guy commit some crime by having possession of a base ball bat?

 

You going to risk it? All he had to do was put the bat down. This guy wasn't on his way to practice, he was going insane, the officers acted correctly, anyone would have done the same in their position.

 

Leave him alone? Where do I get a crystal ball for myself? Life would be so much easier if I could know which issues and challenges I could pretend didn't exist, and wouldn't later create literal existential problems.

If it were that simple then sure, but its not. Your analysis here is a prime example as to why people are so bad at judging police.

Just because he isn't charging them doesn't mean he isn't a threat. They don't shoot him then he hits a bystander, only takes 1 hit to kill someone with a bat, then that would be on them. He was clearly a threat to everyone's lives while there, and didn't surrender when confronted with a superior force. That is on him. His death is on him and the world is a better place.

But according to the officer he was moving towards them with a bat and the even attempting tazer first, which was ineffective. You clearly didnt read the article.

Walking can turn to sprinting in less time than it takes to blink an eye.

 

Why should he put the bat down? Is it unlawful to have a baseball bat in a shop?

 

You don't need a crystal ball to know that a bloke who is retreating is zero threat. If you are a Copper and have no idea about that, you should not be a Copper. People are not target practice fodder, especially at that close range.

What by-stander? People were being ushered safely out. Did you not see that? Why are people so intent on defending shooting Coppers? As far as I am concerned, if the Copper shoots, the onus is on him to justify it.
