Yes - you continue to stand on your prejudiced opinions and deny the obvious truth.

Well, you don't get the full effect of either benefit if they aren't paired.

As President Trump moved last month to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, an Egyptian intelligence officer quietly placed phone calls to the hosts of several influential talk shows in Egypt.

“Like all our Arab brothers,” Egypt would denounce the decision in public, the officer, Capt. Ashraf al-Kholi, told the hosts.

But strife with Israel was not in Egypt’s national interest, Captain Kholi said. He told the hosts that instead of condemning the decision, they should persuade their viewers to accept it. Palestinians, he suggested, should content themselves with the dreary West Bank town that currently houses the Palestinian Authority, Ramallah.

How is Jerusalem different from Ramallah, really?” Captain Kholi asked repeatedly in four audio recordings of his telephone calls obtained by The New York Times.

Exactly that,” agreed one host, Azmi Megahed, who confirmed the authenticity of the recording.

The hosts Captain Kholi called all heeded his advice, and most other voices in the state-owned and pro-government news media across the Arab world were also strikingly muted, even unemotional, about the status of Jerusalem. Such a response would have been all but unthinkable...

Shibley Telhami, a scholar of the region at the University of Maryland and the Brookings Institution, called the Arab states’ acceptance of the decision “transformational.”

The Egyptian military has struggled for more than four years to try to defeat a simmering militant Islamist insurgence centered in the North Sinai, and Egyptian officials have sometimes accused Hamas, the militant Palestinian group that controls the adjacent Gaza Strip, of abetting violence against the government of Egypt.

“The point that is dangerous for us is the intifada issue,” Captain Kholi explained. “An intifada would not serve Egypt’s national security interests because an intifada would revive the Islamists and Hamas. Hamas would be reborn once more.”

At the end of the day, later on, Jerusalem won’t be much different from Ramallah. What matters is ending the suffering of the Palestinian people,” Captain Kholi concluded. “Concessions are a must and if we reach a concession whereby Jerusalem will be — Ramallah will be the capital of Palestine, to end the war and so no one else dies, then we would go for it.”

All three recipients of his calls pledged to convey his messages, and some echoed his arguments in broadcasts. “Enough already. It got old,” Mr. Megahed told his viewers about the issue of Jerusalem.

The UN may very well be a festering pile of crap, however Israel's treatment of the Palestinian people is inhuman and people like Ariel Sharon are barbaric scum.

Oh, there is very little question about that.

Now we know what the UN is doing when it’s not passing resolutions to condemn Israel or sending peacekeepers around the world to molest local children. According to a report at the Guardian Thursday, the staff at the UN experience frequent sexual harassment and assault, including rape.

Of the UN employees interviewed, 15 said they had experienced or reported sexual harassment or assault within the past five years. The offences ranged from verbal harassment to rape…

Three women who reported sexual harassment or sexual assault, all from different offices, said they had since been forced out of their jobs or threatened with the termination of their contract in the past year. The perpetrators, who include a senior UN official, remain in their posts.

One of the women, who was raped by a more senior UN staff member while working in a remote location, said: “There are no other options to get justice, and I have lost my job too.”

She said that despite medical evidence and witness testimonies, an internal investigation by the UN found insufficient evidence to support her allegation. Along with her job, she says she has lost her visa and has spent months in hospital due to stress and trauma. She fears she will face persecution if she returns to her home country…

One aid worker, who was harassed by a senior UN employee, said she has little hope of justice. “Even when you summon your courage to complain and you exhaust all the internal mechanisms, like I did, all the resources, all the processes, there’s nothing for you,” she said. “They mobilise friends, colleagues against you. I had threats, sent through friends, that ‘She will never set foot in this office again.’”

Whatever the number of reported incidents might be the number of actual ones is much greater. Women describe incidents of assault which they chose not to report for fear of losing their jobs. They were offered promotions in exchange for sexual favors.

The UN has been heavily criticized for several incidents in which its own peacekeepers molested young girls and boys while stationed in Haiti and the Central African Republic. There was even a 2010 feature film, The Whistleblower starring Rachel Weisz, about UN peacekeepers involvement in sex slavery in Bosnia. The UN, like Hollywood, has a long-standing sexual assault problem that everyone knows about, but hides.

    Real Scum!

Infection with Antisemitism is a long enduring problem.

Trump to Palestinian Authority: No More Aid, No More Talking, No More Anything Until You Commit to Peace

This Trump is so boorish. I wish we had a well-spoken chubby-faced College Boy like Marco who would talk tough for conservative crowds and then pursue the perpetual pay-off-the-Palestinians plan that the Establishment prefers.

Oh well. We'll just have to take the crudity of words backed up by actual action instead of more words.

In unscripted remarks to the press on Thursday, US President Donald Trump said the US would no longer transfer monetary aid to the Palestinians unless they entered peace negotiations with Israel, and excoriated the Palestinian leadership’s reaction to his decision last month to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

"That money is not going to them unless they sit down and negotiate peace, because I can tell you that Israel does want to make peace, and they’re going to have to want to make peace, too, or we’re going to have nothing to do with it any longer," he said.

I am not so sure what you mean by that, but it is a fact that Ariel Sharon has been associated with the massacre of innocent people. As such, what I said about him is true.

Sabra and Shatila massacre. I wasn't online in 1983. This is an enduring stain on his character.

Under Cover Of Conflict, Hamas Killed Palestinians, Amnesty Alleges.

During the upheaval of last year's war between Hamas and Israel, at least 23 Gazans were deliberately killed by their fellow Palestinians, according to a report out this week from Amnesty International.

Amnesty blames the killings on Hamas, which runs Gaza.

Actually its not only Sabra and Shatila, but I give you credit for at least saying its a stain on his character. That said, I used to get into discussions on the Palestinian issue. I have tried to defend their cause because they are being mistreated. I'm not going to try to dig it up, because its been a while. But I have said that Palestinian terrorism is not right and is stupid.
