Pretty sure there is no state, no county, no city in the country that has forced anyone to put anything in their body or wear masks. Most states do have better governors who have properly encouraged these things, however, and saved lives in the process.

A 2019 survey conducted by the Department of Justice (DOJ) found that some 43 percent of criminals had bought their firearms on the black market, 6 percent acquired them via theft, and 10 percent made a retail purchase – 0.8 percent purchased a weapon from a gun show.

In 11 percent of cases, the criminal had someone else buy a gun for them – known as a straw purchase – while an additional 15 percent got guns from a friend or relative. Some 12 percent of weapons found on a crime scene had been brought there by someone else.

A recent national survey of prison inmates aged 18 to 40, published by Preventative Medicine, found that only one in 10 bought the firearm involved in the act that resulted in them being jailed.

Law enforcement and security experts also emphasized the importance of distinguishing between “criminals” and “mass killers.”

“Statistics show that those individuals committing ‘mass killings’ during ‘active shooter’ events do so utilizing weapons that have been obtained legally by themselves or a friend or family member,” observed Charles Marino, CEO of Sentinel Security Solutions. “Statistics show that those individuals committing what is known as ‘street crimes’ are typically doing so by utilizing weapons that have been initially stolen and may have further traded hands in the black market.”

I just remembered something about society tolerating opposing views - when I was moving to Florida, Biden just became president. Up north seeing a car with pro-Trump bumper sticker was an extremely rare event. Down south people ride their cars that display both candidates. Some people even put American flags with Trump posters on their pickup trucks. It used to be like that up north, but not anymore - people are afraid of politically motivated vandalism. While this has nothing to do with free speech per se, or related laws, it indicates whether the society is healthy enough to tolerate opposing political views. Floridians are a lot more tolerant to political speech then the residents of Illinois or Minnesota. That’s my personal observation.

There is nothing overly scientific to demonstrate. Single parents households are far more numerous and parents aren’t doing as good a job as they used to. It’s basic statistics which I guess is science. Guns are not easier to get now then 30yrs ago. People were a lot more accepting of guns back then actually. Our security was less. People are just more deranged now because they don’t have families. REAL families and a support structure. And social media does screw people up!!! Plenty of studies out there.

And those countries never really had the numbers we do nor our diversity. Our gun deaths don’t look too bad when you remove certain demographics. And Our country was literally founded on having guns. Couldn’t have faught off the British without them. It’s just impossible to take guns away from law abiding people without turning into Nazi Germany.

Still as horrible as it is, there are far more deadlier things out there that can be taken away from people that will save more lives. Swimming and cars.

I'm generally opposed to the death penalty. My one exception is when a person continues to kill while in prison.

 

The only schools that "typically have armed guards" are those in urban hell holes. The vast majority of schools don't.

And yes, politicians are going to think of votes.

As for Red Flag laws...how would that have stopped THIS shooting? No one noticed that the guy was going murderous/suicidal.
