Talk is cheap. Let's go play.
Johnny Unitas, Unitas (Baltimore Colts Hall-of-Fame Quarterback) famously said this same line at the end of every pre-game locker room meeting when the coach finished speaking and asked if Unitas if he had anything to say ...

Johnny U ~ definitely the greatest QB of the old era.

Back in '58 when he and the Colts beat the Giants at the last second, everybody celebrated on the field - except for Johnny U who walked off quietly. He had too much class and would not celebrate as this would humiliate his vanquished opponents.

Years later I watched a TV documentary on that famous game. The Giants players (some of whom were among the greatest the game has ever seen) all said there is only one reason why they lost that game --- you guessed it: it was Johnny U.

    Simply the best.

He grew up in Bloomfield, right in the Pittsburgh Triangle and the Steelers passed on him....I loved those Colt teams he played on in the '60s with Tom Matte, Ray Berry, Artie Donavan, Lenny Moore, John Mackey and a bunch of others I can't remember right now...But Johnny was the man...

Lou Michaels, kicker and tackle, played for the Steelers later, Jimmy Orr, big ears, great wide out..., Gino was a great DepE, same league as Deacon Jones.....Sherman played with the Jets later on...I remember the name Jim Parker, linebacker?? I don't remember Ordell..

I used to collect baseball/football cards in those days which is likely why I remember them so well. IIRC, Parker was said to be the greatest blocker in the game back then.

So one of the things I randomly stumbled across on youtube was a couple of channels that have all the football life docs in full length. Man hearing about some of these guys I never knew because I was too young is just great. Some I'd never heard of and others I'd never realized just how extraordinary they were.

The bears look great. I swear they are like 1 year away from being a super bowl team. They've been readjusting and it's working. We'll see if it continues

    Yeah.

The big trade for Khalil Mack could set them up for years.

Also looking forward tonight to seeing KC and Patrick Mahomes.

New Orleans > NY Giants 33-18

RB Alvin Kamara with 134 y, 3 TD, 47 y rec was too much for the puny Jints defense.

Game started out close but the undermanned Giants bench could not supply needed relief for the tiring starters. Eli Manning remained as immobile as ever.

A lot of exciting young players like Mahomes, Corey Davis, all the rookie QBs, etc.

Yup. The league remains as vibrant and as popular as ever. The Kaepernick critics who said the league was dying were themselves dead wrong. ;)

    We'll see soon, lol!

Someone said this is an interesting challenge because the Chiefs have played teams with bad defenses and good offenses and have yet to see a team with a more balanced defense and offense. Maybe the D isn't really that bad, lol

I have a friend predicting 45 to 7 Chiefs. I think this might be Mahones' choke game, but we'll see in like 3 hours.
