Makes one wonder how effective these vaccines really are.

 

Don't forget about those 5 Democrat lawmakers who fled Texas to try to stall state legislation from getting passed, who ended up testing positive for the virus after they took a flight to D.C.

They had all been vaccinated.

Testing positive is wishy washy given the tests. If they actually were sick, that is a different story. Beyond that the whole 95% safe thing as inevitably going to be wrong in the field as it was based on a small study by the manufacturers early on without a single person who was vaccinated having been exposed to COVID afterwards as that would have been "unethical" to experiment with. Social distancing was as likely as the vaccine to have given them those numbers.

 

Okay. And? Stats are weird.

 

Seems someone is under the false impression that the vaccines prevent the virus from entering people's bodies - they don't. Being vaccinated doesn't mean one cannot catch the virus, that's not how the vaccines work.

 

This sort of thing has been happening for months, all over the world. Bill Maher, MLB players, the renegade Texas Legislators, and on and on.

The vaccines are ineffective, and legal documents from the manufacturers acknowledge that reality.

It is easier to fool a man than it is to explain to him how he has been fooled. You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make him drink. You can lead a man to knowledge, but you cannot make him think.

 

Those interested in this have already heard the news that the new variant can get people who are vaccinated. For those of you asking "why is the mask becoming such a big deal again", there's your answer.

 

The answer to why frightened people want to start wearing masks again is found in human behavior, nothing more. Frightened people respond to emotions, not rational processes.

 

The "vaccines" are EX-PER-I-MEN-TAL, so's it's just a part of the ongoing EX-PER-I-MENT.......

 

That's the advantage the trumpers have. Stop the steal has only been thrown out of 60 courts and that doesn't prove a thing. They can claim whatever they want and proving they're wrong is just as impossible as proving god is a hoax.

 

Then why is the Gov't blaming the unvaxed for spreading Covid ? Since being vaccinated doesn't mean one can not spread the virus.

 

By now you would think everyone would know the vaccine doesn't prevent you from being infected, it prevents you from getting sick.

No one is saying that. The unvaxxed are getting sick and draining healthcare recourses and prevent herd immunity from ever taking place. If there will be more lockdowns, it is because of them.

 

Vaccines do not keep you from getting the virus, they train your body to fight off the virus if you do get it

how many times does this need to be said? the vaccine doesn't repel the virus, it's not like a bubble of protection

The experiment was a success and the current situation proves it. Vaccinated people are not getting sick while unvaccinated one are getting sick and dying.

 

But vaccinated people are still being infected and might still be spreading it.

 

People are STILL going on cruises? Wow! I thought that industry was TOAST!

All evidence points to them being totally and utterly useless for preventing infection, but VERY effective for preventing serious hospitalisation/serious illness/death. Was this only obvious to you after you saw this cruise story? The US/UK case numbers have been a good sign.

I was pointing out how his own position works against itself a little bit.

 

According to a leaked CDC memo there are 35,000 symptomatic Covid cases a week among the vaccinated. 75% of the symptomatic in Singapore are vaccinated. 80% of the cases in Israel are vaccinated.

Symptomatic means they show symptoms.

 

I'm not sure what his position is, but it is a disheartening realisation that the vaccine does not stop you getting infected and spreading it. I think this is actually come to light fairly recently with mountains of data and also the new strains.

So heard immunity is only really going to work when people are vaccinated and continued to get vaccinated.

Until that point, unfortunately the vaccinated need to start going back and wearing masks to protect the unvaccinated (at times from their own stupidity).

 

There is one incredibly important point though. The unvaccinated are much more likely to become seriously ill, hospitalized, in ICU and die.

 

Or it means that this is not going to stop until enough people actually get infected, whether these people are vaccinated or not.

I don't see how your statement on the second line is a logical conclusion from the first. Could you please explain that?

Seems to me the issue we are discussing would imply just the opposite would be the case.

That the vaccination rate would have less to do with reaching heard immunity than more.

 

It's simple. Up and coming vaccines will continue to provide better protection than the immunity you received by getting the disease once and not dying.

Just like with the flu.. I've had the flu before but if I still get the yearly vaccine this will help me get less sick as it mutates.

Admit I'm working on an assumption here.

The way that you're suggesting is risky. Achieving herd immunity by letting the virus rip through an unvaccinated population means that more people will die.
