This year, the world commemorates the 20th anniversary of the bloody bombing of Yugoslavia. Until the end of the previous century large European state existed in the Balkans - Yugoslavia. Nevertheless, ethnic conflicts, fueled not without the help of the US and NATO, led the country to collapse.

One must not forget that the US carried out their bloody bombing, ignoring international law, bypassing the UN and the Security Council. From the very beginning of the NATO attacks, shelling of civilian objects began: bombs flew to hospitals, maternity hospitals and a television center.

Continuous bombing lasted for 78 days. During the 11-week operation of the NATO Air Force, according to open sources, a total of 2,300 air strikes were struck at 995 targets. It involved 1150 combat aircraft. 420 thousand munitions with a total weight of 22 thousand tons fell to the ground, including 20 thousand bombs, 1300 cruise missiles, 37 thousand cluster bombs, and depleted uranium shells.

About 2 thousand civilians and 1 thousand military personnel became victims of the bombing, 5 thousand people got injured, more than 1 thousand people went missing. The military - industrial infrastructure of Serbia - was almost completely destroyed, more than 1,5 thousand settlements, 60 bridges, 30% of all schools, about 100 monuments. Material damage from the bombing is estimated from $ 30 billion to $ 100 billion.

Obviously, the story of Yugoslavia proves one simple thing: if the US feels its impunity, it will bomb, destroy, undermine, deploy troops and missiles, break treaties and impose sanctions. What the United States has done in Yugoslavia vividly illustrates the cynical attitude of the United States towards countries that are standing in the way of creating Washington’s necessary model of world order.

It is one of the sorriest things about the USA, democrats do get in power from time to time. GW Bush and pretty much subdued Col Khadafy the democrats made him pay for that.. nobody should rely on US promises because the next administration could well renege on all of them.

Maybe if they weren't engaging in ethnic cleansing of Kosovo that wouldn't have been necessary huh?
