As for this thread , i personally do not like to see Burka's and also the big fur hats on the heads of religious Jews..

Mary was either 13 or 14 when she became pregnant with Jesus. This is known, it is not my fault you are ignorant of this fact. Do some reading. It is also not my fault God is a pervert, and that Jesus is a bastard(God never married Mary)!! The people who made up Christianity should have done a better job!! This forum, like most things in America, is aimed at the lowest common denominator. Your thread gets a lot of responses, for the same reasons that the oompa loompa from Jersey Shore has a show, and people watch it. People are stupid, and lots of non-stupid people like to watch a train wreck.

Young women of 13-14 years old frequently give birth - it's a child bearing age. Not so with a girl of 9 - she's herself is a child. And while 4-5 years does not sound like much of an age difference when you talk about someone in their 40's, there's a world of difference (physiologically speaking) between 9 and 14 year old girls.

The rest of your ramble is similarly irrelevant.

Unless you are a Sunni Muslim who holds strict adherence to the Bukhari and Muslim Hadith collections then you have no real reason to assume that Aisha was only 9 upon the consummation of her marriage given the historical records that we have.

Indeed. It's usually a tell for me that the person in question's understanding of Islamic history tends to extend in a manner that is concentrated on a dislike for Islam. Or should I say, that the person in question is more interested in simply bashing Islam than understanding it.

So of course you don't respond to the second part. The first part is relevant, because Mary was 13, while God was billions of years old by that point!! The age difference is clearly pervy!!

 

What source are you using for Mary's age? All we really have to go on was the terminology used within the Bible, and while it calls her young it doesn't specify a specific age.

 

No reliable sources such as birth certicates etc. however
, biblical records are ridiculously unriable , one can only go by probabilities , the standards of that period was certainly NOT as 19th-20-21st Western - developed nations nation states, perhaps closer to/ some parts of present day rural Africa / rural India + much of rural Asia . etc.

Oh it seems perfectly probable that she was young, but running around insisting on a specific age for her seems a bit much.

 

I cant remember whether my parents ever had a bible at home , they were free thinkers, so all I can remeber abt Mary was easy going school lessons.

Noawadays if a young girl got pregnant her parents . I presume , would be very concerned, do you know anything abt how Mary's mother and father reacted on learning of her pregnancy ?

I've put this question to some other Bible students , without getting a satisfactory reply.
