So you offered up a criticism and dismiss it as a criticism when it logically contradicts your position as well. BTW if you believe in labels regardless of who says what is safe then you are believing in what someone else is saying.

    Example please.
    specifics not name categorizing.

I only believe in the ingredients label and such guarantees as Organic or Non GMO.
Such labels have nothing to do with "safe".

How so having it both ways, specifically. Moi's words.
    Thank you

Specifics of what? GMO/NON-GMO is not an ingredient. "Flour" is an ingredient.

No, I did not, but even so, it doesn't mean I want my meats soaked in Ammonia.

it is volatile and is evaporated off. It is not harmful.
The product does sound gross though. The price you pay for a burger on the dollar menu.

yes, when I buy a hot dog, I know I am getting something not good for me, that is on me
yes, when I buy a tv dinner, I know I am getting something not good for me, that is on me
but adding to hamburger meat that I think is real ground beef is on them imo

I think it is misleading to call it "lean finely textured beef"

when I want real ground beef I now get it ground fresh, I do not mind paying more, I just want to know so I can make an informed choice

and I do eat the occasional hot dog and tv dinner... so it's not that I wont eat it, I just want to know when I am eating it

yes, but a gmo apple is not a non-gmo apple, give it a new name as it's a new type of apple, selling it under an existing name is misleading

An apple is an apple. There is nothing misleading about calling it an apple. calling it an orange would be misleading.

Right is the way likes this.

Thanks for the follow up. "Although we have concluded that continued litigation of this case is not in the company's interests..." says it all. $177M is better than $5.7B they could have lost. Good to see their lawyers talked some sense into them.

Just buy the stuff thats labelled 'non-GMO' or 'not chemically treated' or w/e. If it doesnt say on the label, then its prolly bad. Companies that take the extra steps will brag about it on their product. Just vote with your dollars and buy what you want. The market will adapt. And of course, do research to make sure they arent lying on the label, sue them if they do. Gotta keep em honest.

I can't see any jury finding in favor of such a judgement

true, but without the media being about to report stuff like this, I would of never known that the ground fresh hamburger in my grocery store was not real ground beef - it's sad that I now have to stand in line so I can watch them ground my hamburger to make sure it's real, can't just trust it is cause it looks like it is

Their lawyers seemed to differ with you. I mean if you are creating the impression my beef product isn't really beef but some toxic slime and it turns out is is beef with a common food additive, then I might be inclined to win.

but you agree, they should give it a new name and not hide it under a old name of an existing apple

they did not call it toxic, they even said it was not, they only called it what it looks like

"In the suit, BPI alleged that ABC misled viewers by calling its lean finely textured beef "pink slime." LFTB is a common ingredient in beef products and is safe to eat, which ABC noted in its reports. However, even with assurances that the ingredient, made from the trimmings of a cow and treated with ammonia to kill bacteria, wasn't dangerous, the phrase "pink slime" turned off customers, the lawsuit claimed."

    Where.

And I might add, ammonia is toxic. It is poison, not food. Do you deny that as well?

I guess you missed the "Ammonia plays an important role in protein synthesis in the human body" part huh?.....not to mention all the foods that have it added in. You were wrong. You could just simply say, "Oh never knew that" but you persist in your wrongness (as usual)
