Look- you could say the exact same thing about Christians 800 years ago - trouble and bloodshed are was not unique to Muslims. There are big differences between then and now. Islam (at least parts of it) for example was far more accepting and moderate in relation to Jews than today.

Islam used to be at the height of knowledge, science and technological advancement. Accepting of new ideas and innovation. It was the Christians back in the day that were wallowing in ignorance - the Church condemned almost anything and everything as heresy.

 

My comment was sarcasm - and your comment have nothing to do with the context of what was being discussed. The point was that just because things are written in a 2500 year old religious book - this does not necessarily mean that all people believing in that religion follow that book to the letter all the time and in all ways.
