I remember trying Age of Conan a couple years back or so. I didn't get very far in it, but I wouldn't say there was anything particularly wrong with the game either. It just didn't hook me at the time. Might be fun with a friend/ friends..

I've gotten burned in the past on PAYING for MMORPGs...and then 6 months later, they go to "free to play" (getting cash from "Gold Accounts" or buying in-game stuff off the game store).....so if I try "AoC" (as it's known)....it'll be FTP.

I hear it's pretty "mature".....blood splatter, NPC quests or chars in the PG-13 or even R rating, and ....wait for it......female chars can go topless. :)

"So it's got that going for it...which is nice"---paraphrasing Bill Murray in "Caddyshack"

I got burned on Star Wars: The Old Republic, and not just because it went F2P. I ended up hating it pretty much from the outset for being a WoW-clone in terms of its game-play mechanics. They had no demo available, though, so I had to pay for it just to be able to try it out at the time.

Never again, I say. I'm watching reviews of such games carefully now. Thanks to those I knew to avoid The Elder Scrolls Online, for instance, which is likewise disappointing for its mechanics and other reasons, especially when compared to the real Elder Scrolls games. Even good old Daggerfall, a DOS title, has more going for it than this goofy MMO, which unfortunately just sticks to the run-of-the-mill MMO formula. They even used SWTOR's engine, from what I've heard.

I would like something innovative and fun, like WoW was when it came out and before Blizzard ruined it through subsequent patches, but apparently no game developers want to take a chance being creative and different, kind of like Hollywood..

Isn't that the game that Penny became addicted to on Big Bang Theory?
