that's because majority in the north votes center/right/far right (socialists at -10% in polls)

the results of a left wing Walloon for 50 years is a economy graveyard with no major industry remaining, supported by the Flemish north and even then they stil fail to get the budget in order causing Belgium debt to rise each year.
