You must not be familiar with my penchant for using copious amounts of sarcasm.

But yes, this is what happens in a safe society. The waste by-product is stupid people.

the document put forward has enough warm and fuzzies and inexact language that allows opponents to ridicule it based solely on those instances, which conveniently allows them to NOT ADDRESS the meat of the plan.

Substance is not something that trumpettes do well with.

I expect an Executive Order banning them from entering the country.

    I'm sort of new here.
I just know that we won't be getting rid of anything like cows or planes, but in the next ten years, a lot of new tech is going to become ubiquitous. Lab grown meats that you can't tell from the original (nutrition, taste, safety) electric powered aircraft for short hop flights (150-450 miles) cheap electric cars...the market is going to be the thing that makes that stuff happen.
No different than our smart phones replacing almost every other music medium in existence, even CD's.

Mmm I dunno. Technology is a weird thing that tends to come in unpredictable spurts.

I mean how much have we really advanced since 2009 compared to what happened between 1989 and 1999.

Ah so your statement was a general opinion on everyone applied to a specific group.

And I am delighted you aren't looking for universal love and respect, since such a massive disappointment could be psychological damaging, don't you think?

It would be interesting if conservatives would take the time to consider her ideas for their merit instead of wasting all their time finding sarcastic ways to attack her. She's a dynamic, intelligent, energetic, and vibrant new leader for America. We should celebrate that. Those types come so rarely in history.

    Oh goody.

Which of her ideas do you think deserves the most consideration for merit?

She is economically illiterate, yet holds an economics degree from Boston U. What's that say about the state of our education system?

Since 1999, computing power has increased by a factor of approx 48. Mechanical data storage is going the way of the dodo bird, 4K video media is fully democratized, broadband has now reached full parity in 90 percent of the country (albeit crappy slow US kind instead of blazing fast Korean kind) automotive technology is now 90 percent ready for autonomous driving, electric cars are now poised to achieve parity with economies of scale and price being the only tipping point, and we know how that always works...that's just off the top of MY head.

Oh and...we have the ABILITY, if not the political WILL, to solve the nuclear waste AND meltdown problem with nuclear reactors.

Why is Chuck Schumer refusing to showcase Cortez dynamic, intelligent, green new deal on the Senate floor? "Rarely in history" has the Senate majority leader had to force a vote on a bill passed by the opposition in House, because it's against the wishes of the Senate minority leader. is Schumer a closet conservative?

It's not a polished presentation. Team AOC is going to have to go back and do a better job writing it.

She should probably request the GAO's appraisal ... it'll save both time and face.

No, they should just start over and enlist the kind of help that is common on Capitol Hill these days. Industry lobby groups and think thanks churn out gavel-ready legislation and spoon feed it to lawmakers every day.
Think "American Legislative Exchange Council", just as one example.
The great thing is, GND isn't even a piece of legislation, it's a wish list, a proposal, sort of a child's "letter to Santa", so the bar is lower.
But it still needs to have polish and some actual meat to it.
A high schooler can write book reports that read better than the GND.

For example, when they talk about mitigating carbon, they should mention things like thorium fuel cycle reactors.
They should talk about reintroducing subsidies for electric cars.

So first invite lobbyists to help draft legislative proposals to reinvigorate corporate welfare? Yes ... that's less embarrassing.
