Alibaba employees have nothing to do with this... Again you still think Alibaba is claiming to hire 1 million people when no such claim was made... You speak of the "real world" and then make up claims.

You obviously don't own or have run a business, because working harder for less is just plain stupid

I keep the hours below the Obamacare nightmare so that I can at least keep the employees I have. My salons are and have always been appointment only salons. We have never been a Supercuts type salon with $10 no appointment haircuts

Funny, you fell for buying the bridge :roflol:

Amazon touches and supports thousands and thousands of businesses, as does Ebay, which in turn support and benefit their employees

I run my own research lab, which is somewhat akin to running a business. I know how hard it is to be responsible for payroll.

And working harder for less is a principle of life -- welcome to the 2nd law of thermodynamics. Mr. Trump is not going to give you the present of working less for more.

Yes he will, by improving the business environment, it will make my business considerably more valuable to sell. I have been at this for 42 years, and I'm ready to sell

Working harder for less is a principle? :roflol: Maybe if you are first starting out, but that doesn't apply to me

I'd recommend you study up on the principles of thermodynamics. Nothing has taught me more about life than studying it. And, yes, the 2nd law of thermodynamics states that the entropy of the universe always increases. Thus, whenever time passes, less entropy can be produced and future generations have to do more with less. A true principle of life.

The only thing I plan on studying up on is how to enjoy my retirement, my wife and I are looking so forward to it. I will apply the principle of giving back more than I do now by cutting, and styling the hair of seniors in retirement homes who can't afford to have their hair done. So I'm not sure the principle of thermodynamics would apply to my service of being free

Good for you! And kudos for giving back to the community!

However, learning something new can do wonders to keeping the mind sharp. I'm planning to learn some new skills when I retire, hopefully in 10 years.

Again, this borders on the absurd. What they are talking about and trying to sell you is the idea that they will "open the US manufacturing market to the Chinese consumer market", which we already are open to. And this is just another "storefront" which expands a "market" thats already open. Amazon at its peak only employed a little over 250 thousand people, and that includes its worldwide operations. Alibbaba is already open to the rest of the world, and still only employes 46 thousand people. And the real irony is that since we currently have a trade deficit with China of $366 billion, the only thing we would be doing is selling the Chinese the things they made. Its ridiculous on its face.

How much tax do we collect now from the Chinese? What was that? Oh yeah, the number is zero.

Truth is, putting people to work affects an entire community, not just the company who built the brick and mortar. No matter what the number is in regards to the number of employees, business in America is open, and it will not be a bunch of government jobs like Obama pushed.

All due respect, but what does that even mean ?

Only some states collect tax on internet purchases, and that is from the purchaser in the state they reside (we cant collect taxes from Chinese citizens). There is no federal tax on internet purchases currently. "Taxes" on international purchases are controlled by the Commerce Clause, and only under on very limited criteria can be taxed, so almost all international shipments are not subject to tax (which is why we collect nothing now, and wont with Alibabba either).

Yes, putting people to work affects the entire community, I agree. But there is nowhere near 1 million jobs. That number is beyond ridiculous. Business in America is open ? Of course it is, but don't confuse "open" with good for the masses.

The "1 million jobs" is yuuuuge BS

    Obama actually cut government workers......http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tan...nt-workers-more-caregivers-servers-and-temps/

What will happen will be 1 million new low pay jobs selling imported Chinese goods on the internet.

It takes a decade to establish viable manufacturing businesses from nothing.

And yet if Obama did it, he would be accused of cozying up to commies.

The world's view of Obama is nothing more than a feckless weak leader. It started when he drew the line in the sand on Syria, and he has been a joke since
