All of us are morons - we don't even understand our own calender

Remember when we threw the big party for the end of the 2nd Millennium? December 31, 1999?

I'm not sure why this didn't occur to me until now, but apparently it occurred to no one at the time:

The 2nd Millennium ended on December 31, 2000. We celebrated the beginning of a new millennium a year before it even started!

(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*). Apparently the entire world is so dumb we don't even understand our calender.

I feel depressed about humanity now.

 

Actually many of us made the argument when it was relevant a decade and a half ago........

 

I don't know what you mean by "many" - I never met anyone who did, or even gave it any thought.
