Yup... 21 Inflation-Related Thread in 22 Days... That has to be some kind of record for Constantly Hitting the SAME One Note... Beyond Comical... Anyway, as to the OP Topic and the Results of this poll: A new poll published by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research found that only 35% of Americans now call the national economy good – a significant drop from September, when 45% said they viewed the economy as good. The current percentage is similar to views in January and February, before the widespread distribution of COVID-19 vaccines in the U.S. A stunning 65% of Americans called the economy poor, despite solid job gains in October that saw the unemployment rate fall to a new pandemic low of 4.8%. ^Those results are NOT "surprising" (in the least). Many people base their "opinions" on the price of gas and rising prices affecting their pocketbook. ___________ Yup... "INFLATION BAD!!!" And, Everybody Gets It... And, that said there is no doubt THAT: Inflation is a Problem... Gas Prices are High... "...consequences...common folk..." Etc...Etc...Etc... It seems like an endless loop on Groundhog Day... And some people are STILL milking that SAME One Note? Really? In any event: Once again, as everyone also knows, this is the manifestation of the hangover from Trump's 4-Year Economic Disaster (coupled with supply issues as the World Economy recovers from Covid). The SAME thing (Inflation, High Gas Prices, Etc...) would be happening even if Trump hsd won. ^And, Nobody Can PROVE Different. (PS--All the best to those continuing to find reasons to post threads on this Exact SAME Topic. Good luck and Godspeed).
More horse excrement. If a Republican were in office and the same thing happened you would be foaming at the mouth like a rabid dog.
Oooh...this is the part of the thread where we pretend to know what someone would do in a hypothetical situation? I want to play. If Trump hadn't lost by a landslide last election and was still President with the same inflation numbers, you would be screaming to high heaven that these inflation numbers are only this good because Trump is the 2nd coming of Jesus. Hmmm...not as fun as I thought it would be. I guess I prefer a more fact based arguement instead of a thoughts and feelings based one that you seem to like. Carry on.
I could care less about the party affiliation of any politician. What I care about are their policies. The Democrat politicians had 2 platforms in 2020 #1 no more mean tweets, Russia and Covid #2 it's time for harmful economic policies Sadly, Democrat voters didn't give a rats behind about #2 because mean tweets had to stop Democrat voters brought about this train wreck
Remember, Biden is attempting to enact the fever dream of the billionaires. They have no problems advertising what they want for us. No wealth, no property, no rights..... Welcome To 2030: I Own Nothing, Have No Privacy And Life Has Never Been Better (forbes.com)
Pandemic hit. Sales dropped leading to people being laid off and production declining. Coming out of pandemic no inventory of supplies and many workers not returning to their old jobs has led to a problem. It's temporary and would have happened even if I were the President.
By 2030? Not a Chance... Still--That was a Mildly Interesting Work of Fiction, and a Total Fantasy. It WON'T happen like that. No way. No how. BUT, even if it did, it would be MUCH Later than 2030.
Exactly, Capt. It is beyond comical how anybody could think that the notion of "Blame Biden for Inflation" is worthy of being taken setiously.
Economists all agree the Feds pumping trillions of dollars into the economy has a direct impact on rising inflation. Economists all agree that shutting down Americas energy independence has a direct impact on gas prices. so claiming Biden’s spending and economic policies would have changed nothing is simply ignorant.
What a horrible president. Its entirely and utterly the idiot in chief reckless racist brandons fault. Its astounding, he is genuinely the worst president we have ever had.
Coffee has hit a new record high. Wheat has also hit a new record high. It is beyond hysterical that these hardcore Democrats don't think Biden and their party are responsible for inflation. Remember when they didn't believe it was happening? For over a year they argued over it. Just a stupid, misinformed group of un-learners. CNN and NYTimes tells them it's transitory so regurgitate the fake news. When it relaxes in a few years, they'll claim they were right. Their definition of the transitory is whatever they are told by their cult leadership. Oh and I just love their take on oil prices. These morons pissed off the Saudis by rennegging on the military part of the Middle East Peace Deal, and called them parasites. Now Biden is begging them to release more oil that was always part of the deal when Trump asked them lower supply during the pandemic in order to save the US oil industry. You can post the same information over and over again, and they still won't believe it.
Yeahright. No reliable perspective there. Remember that when Obama had gradually pieced the economy back together after Bush's disasters, Trump seized power and claimed the good economy was the result of his own good work. And when COVID, which he had neglected almost to the point of being criminal, had begun to show signs of affecting the economy, he kept claiming it was great. And then when Biden became president and the economy was showing stronger signs of Trump's failings, the right blamed it on Biden. Now the effects of COVID and it's interruption of the supply chain and employers saying they can't get the needed employees, all of which worked to cut production while pent-up demand increased and caused a surge in inflation, the right blames the inflation on Biden OF COURSE. There's no truth in anything the Republicans and their loyalists are saying about this. It's all a blatantly partisan fabrication. Biden's policies could not be causing this surge of inflation because for Biden to be to blame, the cause would have to be his policies "overheating" the economy and that just doesn't exist. The cause is the COVID-caused cut in production, the difficulty in catching up with fewer workers to catch up, and the increasing demand occurring now that COVID is coming under control and people are getting out more with money they saved while working from home.
You're saying Biden's policies are overheating the economy. If Biden is causing inflation, that would be how he is causing it. But clearly the economy is NOT overheating. And the clear and obvious cause of the inflation is the reduction of production resulting from COVID (I'm sure we all remember finding empty shelves in the stores for the last couple of years) and now as things improve a bit we're hearing that employers cannot get the employees they need to expand business back to former levels. But don't let facts and obvious reality stop the spin!
Speculation and conjecture all you got? The premise that Trump would have done the same as Biden is totally flawed.
They are inflating the money supply and paying people not to work and forcing energy prices through the roof. Don't let the facts and obvious reality stop the Biden spin.
And for the many forum members who are doing well and have investments in the stock market, we are keeping pace with inflation, perhaps even moving ahead. So in the end, the people who get hurt by this inflation are those at the lower end of the economic spectrum... and those are the very ones that Democrats claim they have empathy and sympathy for.
Money supply: The Fed is not Biden. And the Fed has been injecting money into the stock market with continuing QE policy for many years. Paying people not to work: Your phrasing is an attack that is fabricated to be partisan in your imagined favor. "Paying people not to work" would 1) replace their income, and 2) stipulate that they must not have a job. But $2,400 is less than a month's pay for most people and so would not replace their income, and there was no limitation of the stimulus payments being only for those who were not working. So they didn't stop anyone from working. Your entire argument fails.
