Seems your memory isn't too good, or maybe you're just too young to remember at all? The extremism did start under Bush, but it was of this variety: They settled down when they got their Anointed One in 2008, but now? Now they're even worse, obviously. Emboldened by the Community Organizer in Chief, who never lifted a finger as they rampaged and pillaged in cities and murdered police officers, they now turn to violence as a matter of course. They cry about fascism while behaving like fascists themselves. And you, and those like you, only enable them, just as the Big 0 did. - - - Updated - - - What planet are you living on?
The 60s protesters had actual grievances such as the Viet Nam war and the draft. Current protesters and cop ambush murderers seem to want nothing more than the downfall of America and to end free speech in America - - - Updated - - - So you tacitly admit you want the overthrow of a government
What about the rioting and burning and shutting down free speech and property destruction and cop ambush killings currently going on?
I'll openly admit it. I've supported overthrowing the government via a Constitutional Convention for several years now.
A more modern system of representative democracy, eliminating things like first past the post elections and favorable treatment for two parties.
An extremely vague platform that confirms my belief that current protesters are just throwing a temper tantrum
The threads about civil war and your political thesis on what your side would replace our current system with if you won is relevant and on the rails. Your signature alone tells me you don't understand how our current system works. A guy that throws a ball creates spiraling wealth that justifies his salary. Stadiums are built, hotels are filled, restaurants are filled and all associated businesses prosper and employ because a guy can throw a ball. In Cuba a guy that can throw a ball gets accolades and little else. How's that worked out?
So then all we need to do is start being truthful and start admitting that soldiers are worthless to us compared to professional athletes.
A non sequitur instead of an honest rebuttal again confirms my opinion that the snowflakes are doing nothing but throwing a little temper tantrum.
Still no answer on what you'd replace our current system with and clearly you don't have one and neither do the rest of the temper tantrum snowflake rioters.
We now have the Chief Snowflake in the W.H. who is so delicate that he needs to be liked, has thin skin, can't take the heat.
-Proportional election results -A 2/3rds majority of electoral votes required to win the presidency with rounds of instand runoff elections until that majority is acquired. -Post-primary campaign financing goes into a central pool and is evenly divided, ensuring candidates can't just outspend each other. -Rules for national referendums to amend the Constitution in addition to the state and Congressional methods for amending the Constitution that already exist -The ability for Congress to declare a vote of no confidence in the President to remove them without requiring the President having committed a crime. The same power should also exist in regards to USSC Justices. -A popular recall ability for state populations to remove senators and representatives -A 16-year elected Federal service limit (while retaining the two term limit for presidents) -An ability for states to nullify federal laws and regulations but requiring combined efforts (like 2/3rds of states, no single state nullification) -An Amendment formalizing the War Powers Act preventing the President from sending US military forces into action without authorization from Congress except for self-defense, and it would clearly define pre-emptive strikes as not being self-defense. -A severe limit on the amount of money that lobbyists can spend as "gifts" on Congress -A 10 year ban on any member of Congress working in an industry for which they have sponsored a bill There's more, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head. Are you satisfied?
Very good, thank you. Trump is actually doing one of those things or very close to it with his lobbying time limits. Some of your other ideas are fine and could be considered in the context of amending our current Constitution but I really don't see anything pertaining to our financial system itself which your signature seems to deride so harshly. Earlier I believe you stated something along the lines that you advocate for the overthrow of our government but I don't see anything you proposed that couldn't be accomplished within the framework of our current Constitution. This leads me to believe you are not willing to do the hard work and associated hard slogging of improving what we have over time but instead just want what you want and want it now. Without trying to sound critical this I believe is symptomatic of the snowflake generation, they have become used to getting their way and their demands being met without question. You will find the real world just doesn't work that way.
My signature derides our VALUES system. In economics, the amount you are willing to pay for something is equal to its value to you. I find it troubling that we think an hour of an athletes work is exponentially more valuable than what a soldier does in a year.
