A federal judge in Alaska has ruled the same sex marriage ban in his state unconstitutional, which is probably a surprise to nobody at this point (other than the part about it coming out on a Sunday???). The court was bound by the 9th circuit's recent ruling. In a strange move, the Alaska governor has decided to try and appeal the decision... to the 9th circuit which just overturned the bans elsewhere... and then presumably to the supreme court that just denied review to every other case that has come to it. Stall tactic, wishful ignorance, or does he just get his jollies from waste taxpayer money? http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/federal-judge-strikes-down-alaskas-gay-marriage-ban-n224251
Thanks for breaking the news to me. This is an interesting day to decide it on, but whatever floats your boat Alaska. The Attorney General needs to just accept reality and stop trying to uphold a law that has been struck down.
It's no more than a political ploy so he can say. "look look I resisted!" A stall in the road to the inevitable.
