I don't know. There are other reasons I didn't vote for her. I might have voted third party because I wouldn't have been bothered as much if she won (if she were a man). This country has waited a long time for a woman president. It'd be nice if that woman was someone the rest of us women could look up to and respect. Because how well the first woman president performs determines when we'll have a second woman president. So you were out to get Trump then? I wasn't out to get Clinton. I don't hate her and I wish her all the best. What I was, was out to keep her out of the White House.
I wasn't out to get Trump just because he's a man. I vehemently oppose him because I think he the most dangerous President ever elected. I see him as an abomination of the system - a failure of democracy and a shame on the nation. When this all plays out and the damage to this nation is obvious, if we still exist, I would hope everyone who voted for Trump will recognize that they should never vote again. They are incapable of making logical choices. They wouldn't recognize evil if it jumped up and bit them in the butt. THAT's why I opposed Trump. For me, this was about mediocrity vs evil, and the US chose evil.
Yea, he could but I don't think he will be. My confidence in Trump is growing. I've been reading a lot about his post recently. He's not a racist, not even close to being one.
He has incensed the complacent establishment and they're out to get him - much like ours is out to get Nigel Farage, the best prime minister we never had.
No, the U.S. chose a man who YOU think is evil. That doesn't make him evil. I've read a bit about him and I'm not sure if he'll be a good president or not. But I'm sure he's a good man.
That puts you in a tough spot. John Bolton was Bush's Undersecretary of State, which meant nuclear proliferation was under his supervision. His staff issued a fact sheet to the UN supporting the claim that Iraq had attempted to obtain uranium for WMD that was known by US officials to be false. He is going to be second in command of Trumps State Department, in charge of day-to-day operations. Really tough spot for you.
You have not read the right things. Look up his charges of discriminatory housing practices. Look up his use of eminent domain. Look up the Central park 5. His admitted treatment of some women has been atrocious. He is not a good man.
I disagree. I have read those things and while I don't agree with many of the things he's done and said, I do not see a bad man in him. I would not have voted for him if I did.
` It may be tough for you but not for me. I'm going after the architects and ringleaders behind the Iraq invasion. You can go after their underlings.
Meaning I thought your comment came from someone else. If it came from the person I thought it did the meaning of your comment would have been different and my reply would have made sense. It's late, I'm tired. I made a mistake. Now I'm going to bed.
P.S. If you took offense at my comment then I apologize. As I said I made a mistake. The comment might look "snooty" out of context.
So then you are aware that he: 1) Used the eminent domain to attempt to force an elderly widow out of her home so he could build a limousine parking lot, and was only stopped in his attempts by pro bono work by the Institute for Justice? 2) Was sued when the company he was president of marked minority rental applications with a "C" for "colored" and then redirected them to less white rental properties? 3) Was sued for trying to force tenants out of a rental property he bought and wished to demolish by, among other things, cutting off their heat and water? 4) Spent $85000 on four full-page ads calling for the execution of 5 teens aged 14-16, and continues to publicly insist that they are guilty decades after courts exonerated them?
John R. Bolton is hardly an "underling". He was every bit the equal of Chaney, Wolfowitz, and Rumsfeld. He has served high level appointments in multiple republican administrations, and was a director of the neoconservative PNAC that infamously petitioned for regime change in Iraq and opined for "another Pearl Harbor" before 9/11. You can count the individuals with more responsibility for the Iraq War than John Bolton on one hand.
Oh yes, he could indeed. We Americans have yet to experience a REAL dictator, at least within living memory, and I truly hope we are not about to, but Trump is already closer than any I've seen in America. Not overtly, no, neither was Hitler. He is still playing the "enemy's list" game though and he still thinks of people as members of groups, not individuals. Do you remember why he wanted the Judge in his Trump University case to recuse himself? He seemed to be honestly unaware of what the problem was in his thinking there He may be, and I'm sure he thinks he is, but so far he has also been a megalomaniac and a rather successful one. Megalomaniacs frighten me, good or bad, and my main concern is whether he will be a good President, I don't really care if he's a good man or not.
One man's 'dictator' is another's 'strong leader': the West has never needed strong leaders more than it does in these days of terrorism.
