Andrew Cuomo needs to go

In theory any elected officer can be prosecuted criminally. There isxample case precedent in all US states for that. Look up Spiro Agnew for one. Mayors, Judges, Governors have been prosecuted. Suing an elected official by a Plaintiff would be much more problematic and unlikely. It would be difficult . In law a politician can be an incompetent but not a criminal. If people could sue politicians for incompetence law suits would never end and governments would be unable to pay the law suits. You can try sue a state for specific kinds of negligence such as unsafe road conditions but that is rare and not specific to one person and there are very short time periods from the date of accident to sue and the amount you can sue for is usually capped.

 

Could Cuomo be criminally prosecuted for this?

 

Newsom acted like an entitled hypocrite; Cuomo appears to have behaved as a criminal (who likely can't be successfully prosecuted).

All I can say is that the MSM can go straight to hell. Every one of them are monsters. 9 solid months of them blowing smoke up our asses and now that Cuomo has served his purpose they turn on him like a pack of wolves. The alt media has talked non-stop about Democrat leaders (ONLY DEMOCRAT LEADERS) sending Covid patients into nursing homes ever since they started doing it. We were outraged when we first heard about them doing it. We knew instinctively and instantly that sending a novel pandemic virus into places where our most vulnerable lived was INSANITY.

Those on the left can give up feigning outrage over Cuomo's actions. We see that you are just following the MSM's new narrative. Now that Trump is out of office, we expect a lot of your narratives will change. Not entirely sure why the MSM/Democratic Party want to get rid of Cuomo, if I had to guess I would bet they want to replace him with a more diverse choice (or more likely a person who has better chance of retaining Democratic power). One thing I know for sure is that they don't give a damn about all those people that died in the nursing homes, they are happy about that. Lots of people dying was part of their Presidential campaign strategy. I could give a damn about MSM outrage over this now that is doesn't matter (other than perhaps to remove an unattractive candidate for them off the field). Cuomo should not resign. He should remain and the voters should be able to choose between him and a conservative alternative.

 

You love to accuse people of being sheeple manipulated by the MSM media. I guess you think that you are smarter than everybody else. Sigh... I know the type.

I'm not outraged at Cuomo because of anything that the MSM is telling me, or because of his D (could be R and I'd be outraged the same way); I'm pissed off because I'm a physician, and my mission in life over the last 40 years is to try to avoid unnecessary loss of human life, so it irks me when I see a boneheaded decision that results in the loss of thousands of human lives.

Now, if you think I'm some sort of leftie who was in love with Cuomo and only now turned against him due to marching orders from the MSM, you are sorely mistaken. If you look back at my posting history and do a search of it with the keyword Cuomo, you'll see that almost every time I spoke about him, it was to criticize him. I'm sorry to burst your bubble of certitude about me (someone you don't know and you can only speculate about - wrongly, by the way) by not fitting your predictable stereotypes.

 

You are still following their narrative. You assume that it was an honest mistake that Cuomo put those Covid patients into nursing homes. Our contention was that it was likely purposeful and premeditated to pump up the number of deaths. I cannot believe that professionals could be so functionally braindead as to put a novel virus into the habitat of our most vulnerable, that had to be purposeful. It is also consistent with the medical community/MSM saying that systemic racism was a greater threat than Covid so people should peacefully protest... MILLIONS did exactly that. I wonder how many black/brown folk died because of that "medical guidance".

If it was an honest mistake, why was it only Democrats who made it? You can contend that they are just dumber than Republicans and don't understand science. My contention is that they are not. My best evidence of this is Rachel Levine opening the doors of nursing homes to Covid patients while pulling her own mother out. Instead of being fired, she is now part of Biden's cabinet. I believe this is her reward for pumping up the number of Covid deaths. The Democrats constantly prattle on about "any means necessary", I BELIEVE THEM.

What I did say:

"He didn't only make a boneheaded decision with sending Covid-19 positive patients to nursing homes, but tried to cover it up with undercounting, and lied about it. The governor was responsible for thousands of avoidable deaths."

What I also said, is that I advocate for him to be criminally prosecuted.

When Democrats go after one of their own it's got NOTHING to do with Truth, Justice, and The American Way. The REAL reason will manifest itself in due time, just keep an eye on who starts becoming a media darling in NY Democratic politics.

Republicans do the same thing. Are you under any illusion that politicians from either party are that different from each other? They are politicians. They lie, obfuscate, have their self-interest (usually, re-election) ahead of the country's, and many are corrupt. IN BOTH PARTIES.

I worked in health care at the time, and the very first thing we did was lock down all our elder care facilities hard. This was before we even had any confirmed case in our state. We had isolation areas set up just in cases we started seeing cases in elder care facilities. All that based on what our doctors told us to do, because of what was going on in Italy. It was no secret what would happen if that crap got lose in a nursing home.

You just gave me an idea. The (New York State) government has covered up the numbers and low-balled the estimated number of deaths in nursing homes across the state.

But, I think, governments all over the world are doing the same kinds of covering up the death counts. That's why the USA seems to be worse off than any other country. We're just more open to telling the truth.

Cuomo had the hospital ship AND field hospitals he never really utilized. Putting convalescent and contagious individuals in care homes can’t have been accidental in my opinion. When crime is in question, motives are an important metric to scrutinize.

 

I've never been a fan of Cuomo, but this is over the top.

You think that, without any basis in reality. While it seems like a government like China's is undercounting, the vast majority of countries are doing an accurate counting, like we're doing (and no, we are not over-counting like Trump fans like to say, and keep supposing that we doctors are faking death certificates to call deaths with Covid, the same as deaths from Covid, which is ridiculous, and no, we don't make more money by doing that).

Now there are two sexual harassment accusations against him, the Democrat female who is the State AG has clearly turned against him, and so have many democrats. I think Cuomo is toast. Either he will be kicked out, will resign, or if he remains there, he will lose the next election.
