Cohen noted this disturbing fact during his Today Show appearance too. Approximately 100,000 children are waiting for a foster or adoptive family in the United States, according to the American Civil Liberties Union. ACLU attorney, Leslie Cooper said preventing gay families from adopting ultimately hurts the children. Is it possible that the Taliban-like RW extremists bent on denying children loving homes may someday come to Jesus, and support loving gay parents like Cohen in their desire to parent abandoned children? Does it make any sense to allow backward individuals with tragically bigoted attitudes to dictate policies which harm children, and deny them loving homes? Are we on the road to decency and sanity in terms of permitting all kinds of loving individuals to adopt needy children, or will burning hate and deranged homophobia continue to destroy children's lives by the tens of thousands?
Just think of how man precious lives could be saved if the disease of homophobia could be eradicated...
