The US is more disparate geographically than France, which is one-fifth the population of the US on far, far less land-mass. Meaning what? Meaning that France has the same infection challenge as the northeast US where the population-density is about the same. France has a per-capita death rate of 39.7 and the US is at 27. The American rate is less but the world is on its Second Wave of Covid-infections. Those numbers given can and likely will change. Time will tell. The French, otoh, have taken to wearing masks. I cannot underscore more that safety-factor because it is the "difference between life-and-death" resulting from the number of infections. Get one. Wear one.
