Hi, I love to fish so thought I'd see if there are others here that are as into fishing as I am. I fish for Large Mouth Bass almost exclusively. I have a new boat, new to me anyway. It's a 2002 1648 Grizzly Tracker all weld with a 40hp Mercury and a Minn Kota Edge 70 on the front. I have been working on the boat since I got it. It's in great condition but was used primarily for duck hunting, so I have been getting it ready for fishing, adding seats, had to have a mount made for the trolling motor, carpeted the front deck, installed fish finder, bilge, getting all of the safety gear etc.. I plan to hunt duck with it too but fishing is #1. I live in Northern VA so plan to fish Lake Anna and the Potomac River mostly. We will probably hunt the Potomac. I've only taken the boat out twice, mainly to test the boat for balance since I was about to mount two deep cycle batteries and was on an electric only lake so haven't even fired the big gas motor up yet. I did get two bass on the boat, a 2lb and a 3lb in the 3 hours we spent on the lake so was happy about that. Anyway, I am curious if there are fishermen hanging out here? Being a political site, feel I should add, I fish with mostly conservative guys but the guy I have learned the most about fishing from and a good buddy is a die hard lib so we rarely discuss politics to keep our friendship a float lol.
Howdy! I enjoy fishing for bass, crappie, perch, and channel catfish. I've been fishin' the Snake River between Oregon and Idaho for around 25 years. Hunt chukar in the mountains above it. Let's see if I can still post a photo with this new program PF is using. That's not me in the photo. I just took it off the web. But I've fished all that water down below, and I've been on that very hill hunting chukar like the guy in the photo. Right under that train tressel is a good crappie spot!
Wow, beautiful area, I'd love to fish and hunt it. My buddy is trying to get me to go turkey hunting this year but I am blowing all my money on the boat so sadly don't think I will be hunting for a while.
I'm actually temporarily living in northern VA. I like to drive down 29 towards Charlottesville and fish in those rivers and ponds along the way. Always have my rod and my trusty watermelon seed worms in case I see a nice bass pond. I do get asked to leave quite a bit though.
When we got tired of crappie fishing we worked one of those shorelines in the video for about 2 hours and caught 80 smallmouth. Not really big ones, but we had a lot of fun.
Been fishing most of my life but have recently caught the ocean fishing bug. Planning another trip up to Alaska to do some salmon and halibut fishing.
Man that's sweet, great video. Boat, beers, buddies, crappie heaven, so awesome. I gotta say, it makes sitting in this office tougher though, oh and I'm not sure your scale is calibrated or 8-9lbs looks different on video lol.
I'm retiring there soon I hope, have property on the Kenai river courtesy of my first reenlistment bonus BAK in 1983. Still looking for SE Alaska property to settle into.
No way, well I will have my boat ready soon and when temps get up a bit and if you are still in the area, we should try to get some fishing in.
Sounds awesome. I finally have weekends off again. After I got back from being stationed in Germany, I was working crazy hours. I'd love to drop a line somewhere near here.
Hehee, you know I was buying a rod at Walmart and this lady asked me why I would spend so much on a rod, it was actually 50% off at $48 so I was happy, so we started discussing fishing, she said her biggest LMB was 10lbs. I showed her a pic and asked her what weight she thought it was, she said 20lbs, it was a pic of a 4.5lb bass lol.
